I got a decision email!

Arrived in Sheffield: April 6th
Email confirmation: April 7th
Decision made: May 11th

The UPS tracking ID still does not have a delivery date set, but I should get my passport back in plenty of time to make my June 2nd wedding in Derbyshire (legally married in NYC in March)!

I'm still nervous about the outcome since we did not have certified bank statements or my husband's landlord's explicit permission for me to live in the house (we did have other homeowners vouch we could move to their place but did not include their house deeds). Otherwise, my application was fairly straight forward.

We only applied for priority last week, so I guess that moved our application in line with the other early April applicants. I was not sure how that would work.

Great news! Fingers crossed for you Antoniaallegra!  ;D

Hi there!

Had a question I was hoping someone on here could help me with.

We turned in our documents March 27th, received confirmation of arrival in Sheffield March 29th. Non priority.

It's now about 6 weeks, and I know we shouldn't be hearing anything by now (Feb 27th are still waiting), but my wedding is coming up in the beginning of July and I just want to figure out my options in case this goes wrong.

If I were to cancel my application, and request my passport back. How long would that take? Just need to know how long I can wait it out.

Instead of canceling and losing your money, why not just pay the extra for priority now. There have been a few people that have done priority after submission and they are getting theirs back now.

I can't actually figure out how cancelling would help you any?

We were looking into canceling and eloping somewhere else before the wedding and just have the wedding be a religious ceremony, then just file for spouse visa.

How do we upgrade to priority and how much does that cost roughly?

Ah, I see, thank you!  :)  We eloped, I can recommend it if it comes to that.   :D

It's worth giving a try, but technically it's no longer possible. Since two other people managed to do it, you might still be able to...just know that it's not a sure thing.

If you like Mexican food, get your fill of it now. :D Not so great in the UK. Me, I'm enjoying beef hot dogs and dill pickles.

Good luck!

They really are. I look forward to the days when I am not obsessively refreshing this board!  :D
