Best of luck .
What intended travel date did you put on the application?
Your visa will only be valid for entry to the UK for 30 days... which will either be 30 days from the travel date you put, or 30 days from the date the visa was issued, if the travel date has already passed.
If you won't be travelling for a couple of months, you'll need to send your passport back to UKVI (I think to NYC though) and pay for a new 30-day visa vignette sticker, which will cost £189.
Thanks for that information ksand24.
The date for travel that I put on my application was 29 May and we explained in the application that I was trying to get back in time for baby delivery and had to leave befor the week of 5 of June. Obviously that was not taken into consideration. We had to wait until some time in April to submit as my partner was still waiting on his taxes and as a Sole Proprietor statements are required April - April. So we couldn't get our application in earlier. So here we are.
Just got my documents back and I'm very happy to say we have been approved! Such a relief as we have been working on this since November 2016.
Thanks to everyone for being on this forum and coming together as a group. Don't know what I would have done if I didn't know that others were also waiting well over the expected time period for priority spouse visas.
I'm going to see if I can get any help from our MP for waiving this fee as there is no way that I can travel back to the UK in 30 days with our newborn. Even after the birth date we will still have to apply for the baby's U.S. passport and that could take a bit of time I believe. Not to mention vacines etc.
Thanks again and congrats to everyone else who has been posting good news. And to all who are waiting good luck!
