What else do I need to look out for on the visa to make sure it is correct? :)

Make sure your name/date of birth/personal details are correct, as well as the visa type, and also the validity dates (remembering they are written as DD/MM/YYYY)

News here too, a little earlier than I expected:

UKVI sent me the decision-made email today about 10 am UK time (without letting on what the decision is, of course, as I expected thanks to this forum). I believe today is the 23rd business day since their email that they had received my application.

There was a surprising bit in this decision-made email:

"... If anyone contacts you advising that your application is still under consideration or that they can influence the outcome of your application in any way, they cannot - please report any such approach..." Makes me wonder if there is some hacking or scamming going on with visas. Something new to worry about?  ???

Do the veterans here know if this warning is new in these emails or something they've long included ?

Best of luck :).

What intended travel date did you put on the application?

Your visa will only be valid for entry to the UK for 30 days... which will either be 30 days from the travel date you put, or 30 days from the date the visa was issued, if the travel date has already passed.

If you won't be travelling for a couple of months, you'll need to send your passport back to UKVI (I think to NYC though) and pay for a new 30-day visa vignette sticker, which will cost £189.

Thanks for that information ksand24.
The date for travel that I put on my application was 29 May and we explained in the application that I was trying to get back in time for baby delivery and had to leave befor the week of 5 of June. Obviously that was not taken into consideration. We had to wait until some time in April to submit as my partner was still waiting on his taxes and as a Sole Proprietor statements are required April - April. So we couldn't get our application in earlier. So here we are.

Just got my documents back and I'm very happy to say we have been approved! Such a relief as we have been working on this since November 2016.

Thanks to everyone for being on this forum and coming together as a group. Don't know what I would have done if I didn't know that others were also waiting well over the expected time period for priority spouse visas.

I'm going to see if I can get any help from our MP for waiving this fee as there is no way that I can travel back to the UK in 30 days with our newborn. Even after the birth date we will still have to apply for the baby's U.S. passport and that could take a bit of time I believe. Not to mention vacines etc.

Thanks again and congrats to everyone else who has been posting good news. And to all who are waiting good luck!

Yeah Im hoping that we will be allowed to travel on the 2nd, as thats the intended date of travel we put on there.

What else do I need to look out for on the visa to make sure it is correct? :)

Lately they've been making them valid for 7 days prior.

Check your name, DOB are correct, etc.   :)  We had a member where the DOB was off by 100 years.   ;)

Hi all,

I have been viewing as a guest for a while now. This group is so kind, informative, and helpful, so I figured it was certainly time to log in and share my info to contribute to accurate info/May statistics.

I applied priority and received my email from Sheffield on 17th May.

Like some others, I saw my status changed to "Decided" as of 23rd June, but have not yet received any emails.

Waiting patiently and wishing everyone the best...

To add a little more data on the visa tracker, yesterday the tracker was unable to locate my GWF number and after I got the email I checked this morning and I got a big colorful DECIDED on the 23 of June.

So hopefully everyone with a decided will get an email soon!

Oh I definitely think they didn't take my upgrade into consideration now, I see a lot of people who applied with and after me getting decisions. Ugh! Just threw away $700 for nothing. Totally my own fault too.

It's honestly luck of the draw.  Be grateful you applied from the US, as the turnaround is much faster than most other countries.  I've spoken to people who have applied priority from other non EEA countries who have been waiting 60+ working days.  Stay positive.

There really isn't evidence for this yet. There are lots of people whose priority applications have taken longer than yours. I know it doesn't help because you still don't know one way or another and are on second round if this horrrribleness, but you are still within the current timeline for priority. Hang in there.
