Hi all,

I have been viewing as a guest for a while now. This group is so kind, informative, and helpful, so I figured it was certainly time to log in and share my info to contribute to accurate info/May statistics.

I applied priority and received my email from Sheffield on 17th May.

Like some others, I saw my status changed to "Decided" as of 23rd June, but have not yet received any emails.

Waiting patiently and wishing everyone the best...

Hi LeapLiz, welcome and good luck!  ;D

There really isn't evidence for this yet. There are lots of people whose priority applications have taken longer than yours. I know it doesn't help because you still don't know one way or another and are on second round if this horrrribleness, but you are still within the current timeline for priority. Hang in there.
This actually does help a lot! I am so thankful for you and mbmoffat, KSand and KFdancer, and all the others crunching numbers and offering reassurances.

I had convinced myself I would hear back this week so the stress is high!

This actually does help a lot! I am so thankful for you and mbmoffat, KSand and KFdancer, and all the others crunching numbers and offering reassurances.

I had convinced myself I would hear back this week so the stress is high!

I'm glad. It really is the most acute stress as basically our systems are kept on alert and you've been in this position so long.  Totally get that about expecting to hear this week, can relate to that. If you remember back there were people in the mid April group who were waiting way after May decisions started to come in. Still unfortunately  - Missiz is waiting from that group, which as Mbmoffat says is the only stat really out of line with general trend. We'll all keep holding the hope for each other.

I suspect we will see a large shift in applications this week (and possibly into early next week).  I think ksand's end of the month theory will prove correct.  We are already seeing it I think.

Hi everyone,

I've been a guest here for a few weeks now.  I wanted to thank everyone for all the information and updates posted. It's been very helpful.

Like a few people here I originally submitted the application as non-priority assuming the timeline on the UK visa processing times were accurate (30 business days based on Feb).  Unfortunately we figured out too late this was not the case.  I paid for priority retrospectively on June 2, still haven't heard anything.  I'm 27 weeks pregnant so every week that goes by we get closer to the cut off week for pregnant travel per airline policy and dr's advice (36 weeks of pregnancy).  We've also sold our house and car, again assuming that we would have heard by now.  I'm on the west coast (USA) and my family is on the east coast.  So feeling nervous and a bit isolated without my hubby  ???

Based on the advice on this forum, my husband contacted our local MP. They were very helpful.  At the moment we have both the MP and our lawyer trying to get some response from UKVI. So fingers crossed!  Below is my timeline.  Again thank you to everyone for sharing advice and status.  You've been a god send!

Timeline:

April 23rd - Submitted application electronically

April 27th - Biometric Appointment (USA location).  Mailed all supporting documentation and passport to visa processing center in Sheffield UK.

May 8th - Confirmation email from Visa UK Sheffield of receipt of documentation

May 9th - Email request for additional form received from Visa UK Sheffield (appendix 2). Document sent to them via email same day (Pacific time).

June 2nd - Upgraded application to PRIORITY, emailed receipt to Sheffield Office

June 5th - Emailed UKVI call center to notify of situation, and inquiry of status.

June 7th - Mailed hard copy of receipt to Sheffield Office. Received email from call center regarding inquiry implying they would 'escalate' the situation due to the fact we paid additional fee to 'upgrade'.

June 22nd - Emailed UKVI call center for follow up on status and escalation of application (per their response on June 7th) - No specific response

June 21st - Emailed local MP requesting help to alert HO of situation and medical condition.

June 23rd - Lawyer second attempt at contacting UKVI

Decision email - ????

Visa - ????

Ugh - welcome. I have just updated mbmoffat's list and added you. I guess you already know from reading the forum there are several people here who will identify with being pregnant while waiting, and all the stress and logistics of that. Hope you hear very soon.

For those that upgraded to priority after sending in application. We did the same thing back in 2014. I can honestly say it was such a waste of money and we ended up getting our local MP involved with the due date of our daughter creeping up. Once the MP got involved it came through straight away.  Definitely contact them. Ours was brilliant!

The difference between doing it now and doing it in 2014 is that back in 2014 you were allowed to do it and there were clear instructions on the VFS Global website for how to do it. Also, UKVI were pretty good at acknowledging the upgrade.

However, this has now stopped and the VFS Global website now states that it is not possible to purchase priority processing after the application has been mailed... so people trying it now are taking the risk that it won't be honoured at all and that they are wasting their money completely.

Visa - ????

Hopefully you will be fine.  Do you have a backup plan just in case?  Can your husband come to the US around your due date?  I'm a believer that if you have a plan B you won't need it!
