Got an email re: my son's IHS (as others have experienced, the website did not allow us to pay surcharges for minors.)

It states:
Quote
Unfortunately there is a bug with the IHS Portal where children appear to be exempt from the IHS payment. This is not correct. We are working to resolve this issue.
The application has been amended for the IHS payment request. The Visa type will appear as ‘Settlement - Parent, Grandparent or Other Dependant Relative’, this is the only way we can continue the process until the bug is fixed.

Please note that if the full payment is not made by 2nd August 2017 then your application will be refused.  If this is the only reason for refusing your application, you will have to make a new visa application and your visa fees will not be refunded.

To prevent any further delays with processing your application, once you have made this payment please send an e-mail to ihs.sheffield@fco.gsi.gov.uk  containing your name, GWF reference, IHS reference and the amount that you have paid for IHS.

I'm not sure if this was why our application has taken so long, but I'm happy we were finally able to pay it and get that application going (not to mention, having confirmation that they are actually moving along in our application process!)
Also, they made mention to pay by 2 Aug -- we were calculating our 60th BD as being 3 August. Not too shabby.

Don't forget Appendix 2, and I'm sure there are a lot of people on here who would strongly recommend applying priority. Hindsight 20/20.

This is BD 52, but it looks like it was decided on #50... this back dating trend throws off the math.

Best to use the date on the decision made email.  Just easier.   :)

CONGRATULATIONS! So happy for you and lovely to see some good news.

Unfortunately the update from my MP's office today isn't as good as we were told that our application could take up to 6 months which would mean end of September which is even longer than the 90 BD (approx. mid August) we had previously heard. UKVI claimed that they contacted us after 60BD to tell us but we never received this information. What makes this even worse is that my husband has been unable to travel to say goodbye to a terminally ill family member, who passed away today. And will most likely miss the funeral now as well.  :\\\'(

I have no idea why our application seems to have been singled out but it is truly devastating.

No - they won't say why it's taking so long. They aren't missing any documents, so have everything they need.
It just doesn't make any sense.

MP's office have been great, and keep pushing... but it doesn't seem to be working unfortunately.

Has anyone ever had an application take 6 months??!!
