No - they won't say why it's taking so long. They aren't missing any documents, so have everything they need.
It just doesn't make any sense.

MP's office have been great, and keep pushing... but it doesn't seem to be working unfortunately.

Has anyone ever had an application take 6 months??!!

Yes, it happens.  Non-priority last summer was five months as standard during the peak (took two months for the application received email)!

CONGRATULATIONS! So happy for you and lovely to see some good news.

Unfortunately the update from my MP's office today isn't as good as we were told that our application could take up to 6 months which would mean end of September which is even longer than the 90 BD (approx. mid August) we had previously heard. UKVI claimed that they contacted us after 60BD to tell us but we never received this information. What makes this even worse is that my husband has been unable to travel to say goodbye to a terminally ill family member, who passed away today. And will most likely miss the funeral now as well.  :\\\'(

I have no idea why our application seems to have been singled out but it is truly devastating.

I am so sorry. This is just terrible. I will definitely be writing to MPs at house of commons detailing the levels of distress and loss people are being put through. Thinking of you and your husband.

Thank you EmilyUK. I will be writing as well, just as soon as we have the visa. Don't want to give them another reason to delay!

That's awful. And so frustrating that it seems to be random.  :(

Sorry to hear that eshodgson. Hopefully there'll be some progress for you soon. It does seem unusual for a six month processing on the UK visas. Something somewhere has fallen down and I just hope it can be sorted out quickly!

I'm starting the process now with my wife and I'm hoping we are within the 2-3 month period. I think I have a bit more patience for it though because when I moved to the US I had to wait 12 months for my Visa and that wasn't with any kind of guideline or estimate. It was just 'when it's approved, it's approved', so we were literally lost on when it would be approved. There wasn't actually a way to contact them and gain a straight answer either.

We had to contact our state senators. One of them didn't even respond to us, but the second had their office pestering the USCIS for a response and within a few days after that it came through as approved ... suspicious! But they won my wife's vote in the next election :p

Ugh really! How long now since you got the thing to pay the surcharge? And how many business days now? So sorry you're going through this.

I got the notice to pay the surcharge on the 13th of July, and am on day 62.

I didn't want to have to enroll my son in kindergarten because of all of this, but time has run out and it's something I'm trying to take care of in between work and trying not to be mad about this whole thing. It's just got me so frustrated that there isn't anything I can do to get any sort of update or peace of mind that hey haven't thrown my applications in the corner somewhere, collecting cobwebs...

Really get that feeling, especially when you hear something then nothing. And that sense of powerlessness too. Must be so tough with little one. Have you already contacted the MP for area you'll be living? You are over 60 days so at least the MP should have valid reason to follow up. We are all behind you, wanting you to get your decision email first thing tomorrow!

I got my decision email!!! FINALLY!!! Best part about it is that my fiance decided to come to Oklahoma to visit since we haven't seen each other in over 3 months, and he has a break from work since he's a teacher. I picked him up in Dallas on Monday, then we got the email today!! I'm going to start calling him my lucky charm!

I'm a little concerned because I thought they would ask me for my fiancés bank statements because I didn't get the officials from the bank... but they didn't!! I checked my bank account and the health care surcharge hasn't been put back into my account... so thats new news right?!?! Fingers crossed!!! so extremely nervous/happy/sad/every emotion I could possibly feel.
