Random question that I'm sure someone can help me with! My passport expires in December of this year.  Thats the same passport I mailed to the UK with my visa paperwork. I know I need to get a new passport soon... but didn't know if that would become an issue because my visa will be inside my old passport. Hopefully I explained that in a way that makes sense! Any thoughts on this??

As you are applying for a fiancé visa, the visa will be a sticker inside your passport.  You'll be "stuck" after you marry anyways as you can't leave the UK after you marry before you apply for FLR(M).

If you want yo change your name do that BEFORE you apply for FLR(M).   :)

Well, I hope all of you are doing well.

I had a mini heart attack today. I got an email from Visual Doctors something and thought it was a Visa Decision. Such a high and low to go through.  [smiley=bigcry.gif]

And I just read that and thought you had had an actual heart attack!  :o  Please don't do that again!  ;)

I've got bad luck- but not that bad. But thank you for the concern. A better term might have been "soul-crushing moment of selective dyslexia".

Hello, adding myself to the list along with providing a snazzy shareable spreadsheet

Let me know if i've missed anyone or gotten the information wrong  :)

Documents Received at Sheffield: April 28th
So I guess I just settle in for the wait then...

This is brilliant, but whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhy it take so long!?!?!?  :\\\'( the week leading up and just after applying I was a mess, then the last month or so I have been fine. Woke up this morning and gone back to the first stage. Im so glad there is other people who understand how it feels. I know people are just being nice but everyday I am asked when my husband will get here.  :-X I dont know!

I needed to get this off my chest, so apologies!

I understand that feeling cause I'm mostly getting the "so how's the visa going/when are you leaving" convo from my family over here.  :( Not fun.

And as for why it's taking so long, I honestly have no idea because it's probably down to the fact that Sheffield now is processing 20+ countries worth of visas, people trying to get stuff in before the price spike in early April, and just the natural flow of visa wait times getting gradually longer at this time.

I wish I could offer you more than just nice words. All I have is support and a collection of cute cat/dog/bunny/hamster videos.

Just having other people here helps so much. God knows what I would do without my cat  :D

Dude, the one good thing about the USA is having my cats. One cat is snuggling AF, and one follows me around like a jealous duckling and tries to steal all my attention away from the snuggly one in hilarious ways.

When I go back to the UK, part of my Skype calls with my mom are: "Now put up cat X, I need to make sure he's okay."

Cats do make this a bit easier... it's nice having a demanding get up and feed me morning face. I can see her look saying "Just because you are having a bad depressing day... doesn't mean I'm going to starve!  GET UP!"

I had to teach my mom to skype last year... when I speak with her, I get time with my cat as well as all of hers (she's a foster mom/adoption coordinator for a rescue).

Oh yeah, one of my cats is part Siamese so he's very talkative, but only when you actually talk to him. So many times I've been on Skype with my SO and he hears the weird one-sided convos with my cat, who's answering back.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I had to teach my mom about Instagram because her favourite cat shows up on the face filters so I've been taking progressively weirder pics of her like my pic on here.  [smiley=smitten.gif]

I have a Snowshoe Siamese at home and she is so mouthy.  She's also rather obese and lazy as all get-out.  She spends her entire day lording it over the lesser beings in her dominion from atop the cat tree.  Other hobbies include eating from everyone else's bowls and chewing on human hands.  Boy do I miss that cat...

Really? Mine is super skinny, but he's part Siamese-part feral cat. We adopted him from a feral kitten rescue. But you can tell by his bone structure and mouthiness that he's part Siamese. Though he does the same exact cat tree routine, and so help the other cat if she tries to get on the tree.

And I understand that. I'm sitting here with a cat on my lap thinking "I love you, but leaving you and having that visa would sure be nice..."  ::)

I assume that she is fully snowshoe but really have no way of knowing.  She was left outside of my friend's vet clinic absolutely starving (hence the inability to stop eating when there is food present).  My friend named her after a Harry Potter character to tempt us into adopting her.  It totally worked.  She grew up with my older cat so is fine with her but Lord help if the other two come anywhere near her on her throne.

Stock up on those kitty cuddles because you will be missing them soon enough!

Dude... both my cats are named after HP characters  [smiley=book.gif]

Granted, Albus and Severus were right off because my mom disagreed with "weird nerd names", but still HP characters.

I am. It's been relatively cold here so they're snuggling for warmth.

That's good!  :)  Yeah, I really did a double take when I read that!
