Rosie, EVERYTHING ksand has said and more!

Sit tight.  Let's hope UKVI respond to your email tomorrow and solve the mystery.  I feel confident that they just didn't look thoroughly and will be coming back to you asking for the IHS payment and for you to resend her passport.  A big ole pain in the butt but one that can and will be resolved.

You paid for two applications, right?  Just checking!   :D

Hello everyone, for the ease of updating the spreadsheet (and so I don't have to flip back through the thread because it's hard on my phone) can I get the following people to tell me if they have received and the date they received the decision email from Sheffield:

@Mitch-9
@j2j
@acquiesce213
@Rosechassit

And any updates from:
@NeishNk
@Mhairi8504
@Poliphilus

Will update the sheet when I have a free moment from work :)

Ksand, kfDancer... I appreciate your time and effort to ease my mind. Really. I'm frustrated for everyone who even has two days in this process.

And yes i paid for 2 applications lol

I really want to send them a string of harsh English cursing. Man, that would feel nice.

So I called the call center again to appease my spouse who truly believes that they are an agency that exists to assist us, and was told that a decision was made on the 19th. The poor bloke on the phone was polite enough, but generally useless. He asked for my  GWF, IHS, date of birth, and name, but then he asked for my passport number which I didn't have on hand and hadn't been asked for before (he very generously offered to stay on the line while I tried to find a photocopy of my passport, I declined obviously haha). My understanding from what he said was that he couldn't "raise an escalation" or file a report without that number?

Anywho, he couldn't tell me why I haven't heard anything, or why I wasn't asked for my passport number before, or why all the other information wasn't enough to make a report/escalation/made up thing.

I only did this to make my husband happy, he wants me to call back with my passport number, but I am inclined to say no *especially since calling and emailing his MP is free*. Is there a way for him to call for free since he's inside the UK, or would he have to use the same number I do and pay?

From my understanding the clocks starts ticking from now as they have your file prepared with all your documents. Hoping for a swift turn around for you too!

Doesn't the clock start ticking from the date of Biometrics which was the 9th September? Online application was submitted on 7th September. 8th September they signed for the documents. 2 weeks later the documents were returned. So I was sat for 2 weeks without knowing my documents had arrived back only knew once I rang the solicitor this morning.

My suggestion would always be the MP route. Always. And push hard. That call line is an absolute waste of time.

The clock does not start from online application or biometrics. The clock starts when Sheffield have all your documents. So if Sheffield received your documents on the 8th of September then the clock starts from then on. It’s when they actually receive your entire file. The online application doesn’t go anywhere and is purely a printout, it’s all the other stuff that is important like the supplementary evidence and the appendixes, so once Sheffield receive everything.... that’s when the clock starts

I believe that your situation is different being in Pakistan.

The US clock starts from the time we get a confirmation email from the receipt of our documents.

You are preaching to the choir. He just has it in his head that the call center is the end all be all. And now that I was told something was decided on the 19th (I'm not buying it), he thinks the call center is gospel truth. I even used your story as an example of how their word means nothing and he said that was probably just a genuine mix up  ::)
