It's interesting though, because in spite of that, you seem calmer. I don't know how you are actually feeling but it's as if you have relaxed a little bit now you know you have done everything you can?  :)
that's basically how I'm looking at it, I did everything I could at this point. TBH I'm very calm in bad situations, in fact I get calmer! I do check my email constantly even when I KNOW they won't be emailing me. Just on the off chance. I probably will start losing it after the 15th though...

Speaking to my husband last night (all conversations end up back to this, I imagine everyone else has similar experience!) He said that when we applied it said that applications would take a maximum of 12 weeks to process, any longer and we would be contacted.
I wondered if anyone has actually been contacted if any has had to wait longer than 12 weeks!?

No, they don't contact you.  What you can do after 12 weeks is ask your MP to enquire.  And they will be told there is a big backlog.  Sadly, you are just at their mercy until it's done.

On one of the facebook groups, someone did get contacted.  I can't find it now.  But I'm almost positive it wasn't a US application so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.  It was just an automated email saying it's going to take longer though, there was no estimate on how long it will take.

Well in unrelated news, today is my cat's 6 birthday/adoption day so I went all out since I'm here waiting for the visa with nothing to do. He seems to know it's his special day cause he's been extra hammy today.

And I mailed my husband's birthday presents since his birthday is in about a week and a half, and I definitely won't be back before then.  [smiley=bigcry.gif]

I scoured Pinterest and Buzzfeed for cat birthday stuff. My life is that of an 89-year-old woman with only cats as company. But I couldn't find out how to make a birthday hat AND make it stay on the cats head.

My half-Siamese keeps running into the cat tree everytime I come near him with the hat I made.

I know what you mean,  but if I'm alive at 89 with a bunch of cats for company, I'll consider that a win!  ;D

He's gotten a new laser pointer and some catnip spray. And his sister's birthday is next Sunday so there will be even more shenanigans.
