Thanks everyone. It's Thanksgiving weekend in the US but we're full steam ahead with our plans for the move.

Hi dears
I got my first Email that the decision was made on 26/10/17. Since then I did not get a confirmation letter stating its approved or refusd nor my documents. I have bought the courier return service and send it to the Sheffield helpline two days ago. my question is: I am afraid that I will receive my pass with an expired visa!! Do you think that visa will be issued directly after their email of the decision..or do they wait for our  return courier to get them in order to issue the visa?
I am very confused! Any ideas,  recommendations plz

Hi maha!  :).
If someone hasn't provided return shipping information they will usually ask for it before issuing the visa.
They don't usually send the decision email until the visa is ready to be sent.

Did you apply from the US? Did you not include return shipping information with the application but sent it in later? Did you apply for a spouse visa or a fiancé visa?

If your visa has expired by the time you get it which if it is a spouse visa, it sounds like it may have, you will have to request a new vignette. It's a nuisance but can be done.  :)

To add to what larrabee said, what email address did the decision made email come from, and did they request that you send courier/shipping labels to them I order for them to return your documents?

Also, what email address did you send your courier labels to?

And yet another email today, identical to the one yesterday. So three in a week.

Same thing happened to me. I've received three emails from them confirming a decision has been made and about 3-4 other "escalation ones". I received them all this week in different orders. They must just send out  automated responses to pretend like they are working on it. Congrats on finally getting a decision!

Hi Larabe

well, I applied for a spouse visa from US. At the time of application the lawyer included a shipping label to London and thought that they will send him the documents,  although their email was clear. thats why it took long time till I knew that they want me to send them a shipping label to US
Regarding the Viggnete Visa, is it a new application! does it take long time?

Normally they will send the request for the shipping labels either almost right away after receiving your documents, or just before they make a decision.

I've never heard of them making a decision and then asking for the shipping information, because they don't send out the 'decision made' email until after you have sent the labels.

What email address did your 'decision made' email come from?

If it came from the UKVI enquiry service it may not have been correct and it might be that a decision has not been made yet after all.

Can you give your timeline for what you received when?
- what date your application was received in Sheffield
- what date you got the request for shipping labels
- what date you got the decision made email

If your vignette has expired and it's UKVI's fault for not sending it back to you in time to travel, you may be able to contact them directly and get the dates corrected just by sending your passport back.

If not, you will have to fill out an application on the visa4uk website, pay £169 for a vignette transfer and send your passport to the New York office (I believe).

dear KSAnd 24

My lawyer received the decision email on this email address  VISAINFO.SHEFO@FCO.GOV.UK and they told to send shipping label to
VisaSheffield@homeoffice.gsi.gov.

First we sent them two shipping label as my husband had them both by mistake and sent them to this Email. then we received an email from them stating that they cannot disclose any information to us since our emails were not listed in the application. later the lawyer sent the the label (zip file) to both emails and we are still waiting for their response

Hmm, interesting - since you applied in August, back when there were delays, it may have just got caught up in those (we had a couple of people told they a decision had been made in Aug/Sept but it took about a month for the visa to actually be sent to them... and they had included shipping labels from the start).

Has your lawyer tried to find out any information for you?

What about contacting your UK spouse’s MP and seeing if they can help at all?

Normally, the package will be mailed out a day or two after they receive the shipping labels.
