Congratulations tiff! Hopefully I’m not too far behind.

Thank you! I hope that for you too. This process is so rough - fingers crossed you get some good news soon.

Thanks dramahuman ... I'll just wait 'til BD60 (Monday) and will then contact them. Am also planning on having my wife meet with our MP as well.
Updates:
1 - wife met with MP's representative on Friday, they contacted UKVI today and we're at least on their radar screen now.  :)
2 - sent email to UKVI today (BD60) and got a response within 12 hours - unfortunately they responded to me with someone else's status:o Even though their email subject line correctly showed MY reference number the body of the email showed someone else's reference number and answered questions that were completely irrelevant to my email. I think I've seen this before in the chats - looks like they simply cut & pasted a previous reply.  >:( This level of incompetence is maddening!
Arrived in UK:   22-Feb-2018
Nationality:  US Citizen; wife is UK Citizen
FLR(M)Online application:  25-Jul-2020 anticipated

Oh no! That's crazy about them sending you another's status, then again, I know most people here ward you away from the emails and calls due to their incompetence on that end.

Hopefully contact the MP gets things moving!
Decision: Approved (04/11/2018)

I broke down and used the contact page today too. I know that it accomplishes absolutely nothing but £6 made me feel better for the rest of the day, so I guess there's that. I would laugh extremely hard if you got my info in your reply!

We've been chatting with our MP's office as well and they don't seem to have a cheery outlook with info from UKVI (this is actually why I ended up emailing - the MP's office made me sad). Best of luck to you Rich, I'm at BD 40 and I feel like I'm dying here. I can't imagine how you feel right now.

Hey Matt,

Nice to see you back :).

Non-priority processing times haven't changed much in the last couple of months... most of them still seem to be taking close to 12 weeks/3 months.

How do you get in contact with an MP? And how exactly can they help you?

My partner went to get his National Insurance No (NINo) today and the person who processed his NINo application gave him some advise RE: following up on settlement visa application status. He basically said don't even bother asking for a status because your visa application goes back to the very bottom of the pile after they review it, thus, delaying it further. Has anyone heard of this happening before? Though I'm not quite sure how somebody processing NINo's would know about visa processing (??)

Just when I thought I had heard it all!   ;D

No...  they have no idea what they are talking about.

The enquiry service is NOT run by UKVI.  They do NOT have access to your application.  When they say they are "escalating" your application, that doesn't mean a thing.  It's just what they tell you to appease you for that call.  They do not have the ability to have your application put on the bottom of the pile anymore than they have the ability to have your application put on the top of the pile.

In our case, my wife simply attended the MP's scheduled surgery in our town, discussed our status and asked if they could inquire with the UKVI.  I'm not sure exactly how much impact the MP can have on the process but it certainly can't hurt. Our MP's assistant was somewhat non-committal at the meeting but did follow up with us and called a few days later to say they had spoken with the UKVI but didn't offer any reassurances that anything would come of their call.

This is how our MP was, as well. They said that they can reach out but that it wasn't a "magic wand" (which we're completely aware of and we aren't expecting it to be).

Hang on everyone, your day is coming. I thought mine never would but lots of faith and patience helped. I can't wait to be reunited with my husband.

So the timeline was accurate! Congrats!!

Thanks. Yes when you said early this week I had just heard we had a decision but couldn't say anything out of fear of another denial.

It may have just been pure chance but when our case was escalated the call centre were the ones that told me we would have to hear a response within 15 BD from the escalation. And we did. Again, it could just have been luck but it did happen like they said.

Also, our MPs case worker was REALLY helpful. She told me you do have to use your area MP not any MP as apparently they have cracked down on this recently, but they do have direct lines to speak to a human in a department who can access information about your application. She was able to get a lot more information for us than any other channel could and she pressed them for info a few times a week. I am sure not all MPs can provide the same service (Northern Ireland MP offices may be less busy  ;)) but worth a shot once you get to 60 BD.
