Wow! So they can’t really check the status of your application or give you any feed back? My husband called once to ask them a question before we sent everything to Sheffield and they couldn’t answer it for us.

It was bad enough them being useless before they started charging for those calls but now they do, I just don't know how they get away with it.

I got an email to take a survey from UKVI today. I took the survey and ripped into them. It asked if I would be willing to give them my information so that they could contact me further for more feedback in the future or regarding ideas about changes to the process - I gave them my information because I honestly hope that they do contact me.

Yes hopefully we both get decisions soon with things over in priority picking up. I will be relocating to the South coast/Southampton area. Where will you be moving to?

Must be getting close.  I don't think any of us that submitted in mid-February has heard a peep, to my knowledge.  I keep thinking one of us will have a decision soon.   ;)

Nothing yet! Today is day 39 and no peep yet. I'm hoping someone in the mid February group hears something soon to give us some hope!

I’ve been quietly reading these messages but I am so ready to get my response! I was mostly fine for the last month and a half but now I feel like I actually could get something soon and it’s making me go a bit crazy!

I hope people around feb time will get it as well so we in non-priority can move along !

Hey everyone, I'm so glad I found this forum!

I have a question about getting my passport returned when we FINALLY hear back re my visa. My husband and I submitted our application in late February,  had my biometrics appointment in Oklahoma City  on February 27th, and we got our "application received" email on March 5th. We purchased the return shipping label from VFS. Our lawyer (completely useless, really wish we'd found this site first!) emailed me today and said the next thing to happen is that we  will be receiving an email that my passport is ready to be collected at the Visa Application Center.

So now I'm confused! I presume the passport will be sent back to my home address that I included on the return shipping label?

Thanks for your help, and fingers crossed we all get positive responses very soon!

You will get a “decision made” email from UKVI then your passport and other supporting documents will be mailed back to you using the return label you included with you application.

Where is your lawyer based?

Thanks so much! He's based in Devon,  where my husband lives, and is highly rated/recommended. But he's given us so much wrong information that we are really worried we will get rejected.

Glad you found us!  :). Yes, that information is also wrong. We see this a lot from people who use lawyers who are experienced in helping people from countries other than the US, where the application process is completely different.
Your passport and the rest of your documents will be returned to you, using the label you supplied.

If I were you, I would compile a list of all the misinformation that you have received from him and insist on some sort of a refund.

Thank you! He actually advertises as specializing in US immigration with over 25 years experience. We think he's probably not been practicing in quite a while and is not quite up to-date with all the changes- just the feeling we get. He's also a bit pompous which doesn't help  ::)

Not since the good old days when settlement visas were processed in a couple of hours at your local British Embassy, have you been able to pick up your passport in person in the USA!  :)

Not sure if this is of interest to you all but thought it might be informative.  The Home Office released the Settlement Visa Processing Times for the month of March 2018 applying from the US:

Number of days to process application:

3 days- 4%   5 days- 12%   10 days- 13%   15 days- 15%   30 days-54%   60 days- 94%   90 days- 97%   120 days-97%

Note: actual processing times may vary depending on a range of factors.
The above data is for all decisions made in March 2018

I think it's worth noting that the expedited visas will most likely be the majority of  approved applications within 30 days.  Hope this helps.
