It's more often reported by applicants from high risk countries.

This is rather odd; I am British and my wife is a US-Citizen and yet we had phone interviews with the ECOs. I assumed that being interviewed is standard process (i.e., Sheffield chooses randomly people to interview). I must acknowledge that the interviews were pleasant and ECOs really friendly.

I'll ask my MP to write to the Home Office and inquire about the reasons the interviews - given that this not standard process.

Coincidentally,  someone in the priority thread is reporting a call too!

Hi, I'm a US citizen too. If you don't mind me asking, did both you the applicant and your spouse the sponsor received calls? Were the calls received around the same time? And what did they ask you?
Thanks

My husband and I got married in the UK. A week before our wedding we got a  notification we had to drive 8 hours to Folkstone to have an interview to determine the legitimacy of our relationship. Talk about stressful! The immigration officer said that having the interview on our file would help expedite our visa application, but as today is BD 45 I somehow doubt that's true!

That would have been relating to the marriage, not the visa.  Were you in the UK on a visitor visa or did you have a marriage visitor visa?

And no, it doesn't help expedite the application I'm afraid.

Good morning,

How's everyone doing today? Every day I wake up and check my phone to see if we've received a decision made email, to no avail... I wish we had paid priority. I was doing so well with waiting but now I can feel myself getting restless. I just want the visa so we can look onto the next chapter of our lives. We have shipping company in place set for start of june but we aren't selling or moving anything until our visa is in hand so it feels a bit like limbo right now...
C'mon feb/march visas!!!! ;D

I'm starting to feel restless too on day 48. I was fine for the first 30-35 days but now I check my email a bit too often! Here's hoping for some more news for February and March applicants

So far this week, it’s been pretty quiet. I think we had one approval last week on the non-priority side.  It really seems to be sticking closely to the 55-60 BD time frame. The waiting is so tough. I think we all wake up hopeful...hang in there.

I’m really just trying to stick to the 60 day mark.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m pretty desperate for it to come in before then but it’s about all I can do...Well that and drink lots of wine!

I'm planning for 60 days too, but I'm also in a waiting game for my sister to give birth to my first neice/nephew (5 days past her due date so far) so I'm hoping to get some good news sooner rather than later. I'll take the visa or the baby!

Remember it's the date of the "documents received" email for USA applicants.   :)
