Hi, I'm a US citizen too. If you don't mind me asking, did both you the applicant and your spouse the sponsor received calls? Were the calls received around the same time? And what did they ask you?
Thanks

Yes, my wife received an e-mail message on 26th March advising her that the ECOs want to interview her and me (regarding my sponsorship of her application) on 28th March. The interviews took place at the same time - i.e., 8:00am PDT O4:00pm GMT.

Their questions were about our relationship: Where we first met/how well we know each other/ how do we communicate/our families/our hobbies/details of the marriage ceremonies/why we choose to leave in UK instead of US/etc.
In other words, they wanted to ascertain that our that marriage is genuine. And the interview was very pleasant: lots of jokes and laughter.

Later on I read that they just wanted to find out if our answers will be similar, etc.

I wish all applications had a mandatory phone interview. Having an actual conversation is good.

Our interview in Folkstone before we got married was exactly the same- we were so stressed about it but within 2 minutes the interviewers had told me they didn't know whether were there bc we were clearly a genuine couple, and he would try to have us our soon as possible. The entire process took less than an hour!

I know. I wish there I was a resource to find out what is happening with my application. Some sort of update so I don’t constantly feel in the dark. I hate this feeling of being in perpetual limbo. Today has been a rough day.

Yeah, it's infuriating when you can't make any plans or have any certainty in what you're doing.  In retrospect, the worst thing I could have done while I was waiting was to spend time on this forum, because I was able to find a thousand reasons to expect a rejection.

You’re absolutely right. Each time I hear of a rejection or someone who has to wait 80 days for an answer, it definitely sets me back emotionally. But I will say, at least I know my feelings are ‘normal’ in hearing that everyone else here is experiencing the same roller coaster.

Thanks for the response. They called my wife who is the sponsor and mainly asked about her part time job. I'm guessing they will call her employer any day now to match the answers. Good luck to you and hope you get the visa.

You still might hear tomorrow!

When I took the survey from UKVI, the majority of the questions were if I thought that the process would be better if there was a way to track the progress of your application. This might be something that they are actually looking into in the future.

They used to have a tracker but then they took it away.   ::)
