That’s a really good idea. I have an email thread going with the outfit you’re supposed to contact for questions. Do you think I should send the photos electronically that way or print 2 (one of our wedding, one somewhere else) and mail them to Sheffield as corresponding documents? The thought of us being away from my husband for the reapply process is horrific. I’m not sure how we will cope but that’s life.

They won't be able to help. They are some sort of third party outfit with no direct contact with Sheffield. Don't get me started on the fact that they get away with charging for these calls!
I'd write your application number all over the outside of the package and "please add to application" and just send them off.

I've decided to go get professional help. I don't want to do this myself. I've contacted Medivisas. Thanks so much for all the info and the tips. You guys are wonderful  :-*

We used a solicitor in England and it was such a waste of money. Not only did we do all the work, he's given us so much wrong information and has delayed our application by more than a month. Every time I communicate with him, I have to come to this forum to get the correct answers, as he always gives us wrong and/or vague info. And he's rated the top lawyer in our county!

Best of luck whatever you decide ♡

They are completely useless. I feel like such a large part of this process is just a sad money grubbing sham. Oh well. Yes, I’m going to do that. Thank you!

His passport is good but he's been in Germany for the last 10 years. I'm out now and I'll post the refusal when I get home.

I can't travel to the UK, can I? I wish I could take care of this in person and not on the Internet

Im so sorry sorry! How awful. Can they reject you because he's been abroad for 10years??
I've been abroad in the usa living with my us husband for 10 years and didnt think that'd be a factor but now im worried that it could be....

This wait is so terrifying. I’m completely resigned to being denied now. We didn’t send any photos because on the gov website it says it’s not typically necessary. Ugh! When denied do you think it’s worth it to apply for a visitor visa so my husband can see his 5 month old for longer than 3 days or should we just skip it and meet in Spain? I can handle the separation, it’s missing out on our baby that’s agonizing. I’m so angry at the HO for everyone that gets denied for following their instructions!!! Thank god you all are here to help. Needed to vent. I’m losing my mind as a single mother. Respect to all the single moms. This is rough!

I hear ya! Did it for 4 months and i don’t even work! Can your husband take time off to spend with you in the States?

No, that's not a reason for rejection. In fact the UKC doesn't ever have to have lived in the UK.
That's why I am hoping that LaLaLaura will share her refusal letter because there must be something more to it than that.

OK, thank you. Yes I'm wondering the same about the denial. It seems they ate very inconsistent!

Can anybody tell me what to expect in the package when the package is returned for both rejection and acceptance. Supporting documents of original certificates back and visa but what else? Letter explaining? I want to predict before I opened based on weight 😁😂

Literally there will be a sticker in your passport and a letter saying where you pick up your BRP.

For a refusal, there will be a letter detailing the refusal.  Unless you have SPECTACULAR powers, you won't know the decision until you open it.  But please remember that over 95% of applications from the USA are approvals.

Thank you for your fast response! Well, after all those months of waiting its down to a sticker huh 😂 I've never been so excited and nervous for a sticker! Good news on the statistics too. I just hope I haven't forgotten something or made a silly mistake. It seems that some dont even ask for furthet info when this happens and outright reject you instead...

Just out of curiosity @larrabee, do the rejections and the successful applications get issued from the same location?  I know a recent rejection had a letter from Croyden so I wasn't sure if they were sent from two different locations.  Probably trying too hard to read into things!  :-\\\\

All US applications are processed in Sheffield. So there is no way to tell until you open your package!  :)
