Just out of curiosity @larrabee, do the rejections and the successful applications get issued from the same location?  I know a recent rejection had a letter from Croyden so I wasn't sure if they were sent from two different locations.  Probably trying too hard to read into things!  :-\\\\

No, all settlement visa decisions are made by Sheffield for out-of-country applications, so all of them come from Sheffield.

Croydon only processes in-country applications to extend a visa if you are already living in the UK.

So the person who got a refusal from Croydon should have been applying for an FLR(M) or ILR visa, not an entry clearance visa.

All US applications are processed in Sheffield. So there is no way to tell until you open your package!  :)

I’m accepted!

At first I opened my passport and flipped through the pages and didn’t see anything and was freaking out but then I realized that I was looking at my expired one. I looked in my current one and there it is :)

Also, for future people— I had submitted my accpliction in mid February and put July 5th as our preferred travel date. I know most people say you need to only pick a date within three months of applying because that used to be in the guidance, but as far as I know it isn’t in the guidance currently and we are at least proof of one case where they honoured our dates. Not sure if it will work for everyone but I just wanted to help any future couples :)

I bet your heart stopped when you couldn't find the visa! Congratulations!  ;D

I think that they have changed it now to allow dates up to 6 months ahead which makes planning a good bit easier!  :)

I hear ya! Did it for 4 months and i don’t even work! Can your husband take time off to spend with you in the States?

I’m not working either which is really making this time go by slowly and making me feel baby nuts as well. Unfortunately he can’t. He’s a small business owner (LTD Company so now I’m terrified we got that paperwork wrong too) and can’t leave the shop for too long. It’s having all this time on my hands and worrying about the family logistics that come with a refusal that’s driving me insane. I’m just trying to relax and breath and walk around San Francisco as much as possible enjoying the city.
