Well, it was a refusal. I'm beyond devastated. There were some financial discrepancies between my husband's payslip and the amount that went in to his bank account bc of a payroll error. Our lawyer said it wouldn't be a problem bc he would sort it out but apparently not. I'm just completely emotionally destroyed  :\\\'(

I am devastated for you! I agree with someone who previously said that you should seek a refund from your lawyer. Best of luck with your re-application!

Sometimes that means that you're coming to the top of the pile and there's not much longer to wait. Fingers crossed that's the case!

I so hope that’s the case. On the bright side I’m glad this email came at day 48 rather than day 60.

Bummer.  Did you clear the NHS bill or get a letter that there was no charge and send that?

My first thought is that’s the issue. My husbands family wants to wait for the refusal due to NHS debt and then pursue. I know that’s ridiculous and was not how I wanted to handle it at all but it’s who we will be borrowing money from to pay the debt. It’s extremely frustrating for me because I feel like this could be avoided.

It is what it is.  Hopefully UKVI will be able to get answers from the NHS quickly and you’ll know one way or the other.  That’s always my biggest concern - how quick will UKVI work to get answers versus me?   ;)

You’ll get through this and live to tell the tale. I just hate that your new family isn’t together.  I can’t imagine!

Thank you! It’s maddening so much of this is out of my hands, financially I’m completely dependent on my husband and cannot convince him or my MIL that we owe the money. I’m emotionally ready for rejection and set to do this all again if need be. Though next time go to you guys for instructions and pay priority! He’s the owner of a Limited Company so there are many things that are potential rejection flags on our application. Also hoping to meet up in Europe if England is a no go. Just want my passport back.

Getting nervous :( past BD 60 and still no update ... need to be in UK next month to take the UK solicitor exam and we have the wedding ceremony for the UK part of the fam/friends (got married in California last year) early Aug ... even if it is a rejection I need to know asap so I can figure out how to be in the UK for those two events :( now all my bridesmaids from the US have purchased their plane tickets for Early Aug before I've been able to for my flight in June ... *sigh* I just wish there was more communication - do they need more documents? If it's a straightforward rejection why take so long? If need more info why not let us know so we can hurry it over asap? Stressed enough about the exam and ceremony, didn't expect to still be waiting after submitting back in Feb ...

Non-priority DEFINITELY goes over 60 business days in summer months.  It's a shame that a March application hasn't yet been processed (the date you received your email), but not any reason for alarm.

Sadly we had several members miss their weddings last summer.  Which is why we recommend booking nothing until you have your visa (I get that hindsight is 20/20).  But I suspect you will be fine for the August date.  :)

Oh my god that is horrifying. That. Must. Not. Happen. >________> Hopefully there is a way to hurry and get my passport back and get some kind of temporary visit visa for that purpose worst case scenario? Gah!

Thank you - reassuring to know that it's not unusual that it's taking longer than 60BD ... the veteran members of this boards are saints <3

You can only get your passport back if you cancel your application. You aren't allowed to travel to the UK while it's processing so unfortunately even getting a temporary passport in the US won't solve the issue of getting there for your exam :( hopefully you will hear something soon!

I suspect you are climbing towards the top of the pile.  I'd hold fire on worrying about the blessing!

But yes, people who applied non-priority in April/May/June will likely take 5 to 6 months to hear back.  It's horrible but nothing you can do.  The process sucks.

For the people who missed their weddings last year, everything worked out for everyone.  If the worst was to happen and you were not in the UK on the date, people will still have a nice trip and holiday.  Not what people expect, but sadly government bureaucracy DOES screw things up some times.  This isn't going to happen to you though, you applied with plenty of notice.  :)
