I suspect you are climbing towards the top of the pile.  I'd hold fire on worrying about the blessing!

But yes, people who applied non-priority in April/May/June will likely take 5 to 6 months to hear back.  It's horrible but nothing you can do.  The process sucks.

For the people who missed their weddings last year, everything worked out for everyone.  If the worst was to happen and you were not in the UK on the date, people will still have a nice trip and holiday.  Not what people expect, but sadly government bureaucracy DOES screw things up some times.  This isn't going to happen to you though, you applied with plenty of notice.  :)

This helps ease my anxiety as well, thank you. My 60th BD is next tuesday but im worried now about all the priority pushing us back.

All we can do is wait. Hopefully fully not much longer.

I think you're fine.

On the Spouse Visa Facebook group, I've seen non-priority applicants who did Biometrics & document submission in the late-Feb / mid-March timeframe reporting that they have now received their visa approvals.

So, Sheffield have clearly reached that point in the backlog.

Late May in the UK has recently become a popular time for taking a short vacation, mainly as it marks the onset of summery weather, the schools are off for a week, plus there's a bank holiday, which means you can get 9 straight days off work for the price of 4 days annual leave.  Certainly, over half of our office was all out last week.

It wouldn't surprise me if Sheffield was running at half-capacity or less either.

I'm sure they'll catch back up again.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you folks,

Tim

Oooh, stay away from those Facebook groups if you value your sanity! They are full of misinformation and will make you doubt the truth!

Just a word of warning: be very careful with the Facebook groups... they seem to be filled with bad advice and a lot incorrect information regarding applying for visas for the UK.

The Facebook groups are INFURIATING.  Plus it's all different countries, so the requirements gets REALLY muddled and confusing.

Different countries have different processing times.  So just because some countries are hearing back, doesn't mean USA applications are on the same timeframe.

I don't know how to link to it, but the group is called 'UK SPOUSE SETTLEMENT VISA'.  You could try searching for it.  It's a closed group, so you have to 'apply' to join so to speak.  There are 11,968 members, if that helps you find the right one.

Hope that helps,

Tim

Sure, I wouldn't recommend taking advice from there, but I think it's interesting to see timelines.  It gives you an idea where Sheffield is in the backlog.

They usually state the country they are applying from and there are US applicants in that group.

One non-priority US applicant received his visa yesterday, and he posted his timeline thus:

Date application submitted 3 March
Date docs received 13 March
Confirmation Email 31 May
Received visa 6 June
Total days from docs received to passport delivery 59

I'm also wondering if anyone has done a spreadsheet with this years dates/timing for applicants on the forum? I've seen some done for last year but not this year.

Thanks

One hasn't been done for this year....  but anyone can take the reigns and go for it.  Wink wink, nudge nudge.   ;)
