Hi All, I'm new here but have been following this thread for a while. My partner and myself put in our visa application back in March and received confirmation that it had been received in Sheffield on the 30th March 2017. We are still awaiting a decision and despite planing the wedding for the 12th of July, still haven't heard anything. Is there any way to check on the status of an application. Any help would be gratefully accepted.
Thanks
Hi ECCHO!
First and foremost, welcome to the NP side!
Supposedly, this visa application status checker is to help you see the status of your app:
https://contact-ukvi.homeoffice.gov.uk/app/visa_application/checkvisastatusI say supposedly because it is in BETA, brand new, and it works for some people and not others.
I'm not too sure how else to check the status of your visa besides that. I would advise against calling the call centre as they seem to be a waste of time/money.
You could try contacting your MP to see if they can speak to Sheffield on your behalf. I think some users say to wait till waiting day 60 before doing that.

http://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=90889.0Apart from those options, I don't know of anything else to do besides wait. Unfortunately, the average wait for NP is about 53 days, but many users heard around the 55 wait day range. So there is the possibility that you could hear this week.
