Decision made email received! I’m hoping for the best but prepared for the worst. I’m just so happy that either way the wait of the unknown decision is finally coming to an end.

Ooooh, LOTS of luck!  :)

Have all my fingers and toes crossed for you.  Please do update us!

Thank you! Will do. I’m out of town until Saturday so now the question is do I wait to open the package or have my parents open it in my absence.

Have your parent's open in your absence.

Though I do get that it depends on if you would disclose the information in the package...  I realise that myself and my parents have a unique relationship where we are pretty open about everything.

Oh, I don't know that's hard. But I suppose in reality the need to know would win over so I'd go with parents opening it too!  :)

Unfortunately I was denied. I’ll post the denial letter tomorrow on another topic. I’m hoping my husband can figure out what’s needed or someone here can. The denial was due to insufficient evidence submitted for financials. He has a Limited Company so this is hugely confusing to me. At the time we thought all that was needed was his tax return. Hahahaha! Not the case at all. Thanks for the encouraging words everyone. I’ll cheer up and dust off in a couple days. Right now I’m just upset that this stressful process isn’t over. 😫

I'm so very sorry :( We were refused the first application also, we are 15 BD in to our 2nd application - I can totally sympathize. The people on this forum can absolutely help you - they know more than our lawyer did! Sending big hugs ♡

Thank you! I absolutely don’t want an attorney so I’m hoping the denial isn’t as confusing to others as it is to me. Your situation was so horrible! It’s mind numbing how awful this process is. Glad you’re 15 days in, hopefully you won’t wait too long.

So sorry to hear that :(.

If he owns a Limited Conpany, then i’m assuming you applied under either Category F or Category G for Self-Employmnet income?

Unfortunately, this is the most complicated and document-heavy category to apply under, and is the most likely one to be refused for as well... simply because of the sheer number of self-employment documents required.

Directors of Limited Companies are required to send between 6 and 11 different types of documents (depending on how they receive their income), while Sole Traders are required to send 14 different documents... and if even one document is missing or in the wrong format, it’s an automatic visa refusal.

Hopefully you won’t need a lawyer. If you can post the entire refusal letter (omitting personal information), we can help you work out the exact refusal reason - sometimes you do have to read between the lines to understand what they mean.

So sorry Calitobrum but at least now you can move on. Is there any chance you could use savings for the next application?

It does seem pretty complicated. We applied under category F. I’ll post the letter as soon as I can get it formatted without our personal details. We should be able to get all the documentation together over time but my main concern is the bank account. The account will clearly show the profit from his LTD was deposited in his account but because he also has a smaller business that we are not using as our financials on the application money also goes out and the balance of the LTD account can be low.

As for going the savings route, if we had various people gift us the money would that be okay? I know we have to show £62,000 for 6 months I just wasn’t sure if multiple gifts to make up the amount were sufficient.

Thank you! Sorry to post all this here.

Yes, gifts are fine, from as many people as you like but they do have to be gifts, not loans with any intention to repay.

You would be advised to include a signed statement from each of them to that effect.
