I wonder if PlssavemefromTrump was able to come in for their wedding?
Ummm... I don't know how to tell you this but... No.

There is a whole discussion about her in another thread because she went to the media after being refused.

I may sound horrible (I do!) but part of me is glad because she was told.  When I was reading her posts what also came across was that she was not listening to people on this forum who were giving her excellent advice.

The advice and support on this forum is not to be argued with!  These people know what they are talking about!

I am not sure I would want to use a solicitor/lawyer who did not understand the rules, did not plan, did not accept expert advice.

It is a shame that she missed an expensive party.

Thank you everyone for the update.

While every day is a big deal when you are waiting, UKVI only counts business days.

That's what I was just thinking, so twelve weeks is really 90 business days, not actual 7-day weeks?

Twelve weeks is 60 business days, but 90 calendar days.  :)

I use timeanddate.com - you can set it to count  business days and not count UK holidays  :)

Hi guys, a little help to settle the nerves would be greatly appreciated...

My wife has sent our settlement visa application and we're waiting not so patiently for the result. However, I've just spooked myself and now a little panicked as my wife said she has never received an email from Sheffield saying they'd received our documents and everyone seems to have included that correspondence in their timelines.

We received an email which was sent 4 days after her biometrics saying they'd received our online application and to send the supporting documents or to ignore the email if they had already been sent. But haven't heard anything further.

My question is, is this normal? And if not, is there any way I can check the status?

Our timeline:
Online application completed: 15.06.18
Biometrics: 22.06.18
Sent Supporting Documents using priority shipping service: 22.06.18
Email Received confirming receipt of Online Application: 26.06.18
Decision email: N/A
Visa: N/A

Thanks in advance.

No need to panic - you did get the email. That email saying they got your online application IS the email everyone is including in their timeline. There is no other email, other than the 'decision made' one.

So, your business day count starts from the date you received that 'online application received' email.

However, sometimes emails are missed and people don't get them... but it is nothing to worry about. As long as you know your documents arrived in Sheffield, your visa WILL be processed.

Oh, well that's a massive relief! Thanks for clearing that up. I've had so many mini heart attacks during this entire process.

So, assuming 60 business days is the average, we should hope to have a visa by the 18th Sep! Fingers crossed.

Well, it's working day 60 for us today.

No e-Mail or text mesages.

But then, suddenly, my partner's passport tracker updated and it's on its way back.  So, clearly, our application has been processed.

I guess now just a few more days to wait before we learn our fate!

I don't how I feel about things now.  Certainly a great sense of relief that we didn't get the 'not straight-forward' e-Mail, which, in many cases, seems to trigger a further lengthy waiting period.

I'm just a big bag of emotion, really.  Haven't processed it all yet.  Hoping for good news, but we shall see what happens.  I will you guys know when I do!  :)

Tim
