Non-priority Spousal Visa Timeline

Yabdunur may I ask, Did you ever receive the not Straightforward email from UKVI while waiting for a decision? And also, Did you escalate your application?

We never received the not Straightforward email. We did escalate our application though and received a decision made email a week later. That could be  totally unrelated though.

Does anyone know what the current processing time for non-priority is? I'm really concerned that my priority application is sitting in non-priority. I'm on business day 29, people are hearing at day 20 or earlier in priority. They got my application on aug 15. Just wondering when I can hear if it's not in priority

To be honest, you seem right on schedule for priority at the moment.

Priority applications were taking up to 45 working days a month or so ago, but they seem to have sped up a little to about 20-30 working days this month (though some could take shorter or longer times).

Non-priority seems to be at around 60 working days right now, possibly longer.

Just want to add that is it VERY rare for a priority app to end up in priority.  Did you send the application yourself (not through a lawyer)?  If so, did you mark the outside as priority and put the priority receipt at the very top of your pile of papers?  If so, it's very very very very unlikely that your application is sitting in non-priority.

Really?? I didn't know it was rare. I did it myself. I marked the box I had the priority receipt behind my table of contents sheet.  it must be in priority then. omg I can't wait another 30 days

Excellent news, then I suspect it's exactly where it is supposed to be. 

Yes, I would say we hear of an application being misallocated to non-priority when priority was paid for about once a year.  Definitely rare.

You think they saw if even if it was on the second page? So you really think it's in priority?

It is very rare for a priority application to end up in non-priority.  Maybe one a year on this forum, if not less.

Really really, try not to worry.  You've ticked all your boxes.  You know you'll get your visa.  Try to keep busy and do all the things you'll miss once you move. 

just wanted to add my timeline to the thread as a non priority spousal visa applicant.   I am also one of the new ones that sent to new york as per the new arrangement.     I sent my docs with the Vfs service, also i have yet to receive a confirmation email from sheffield after three weeks of having sent the supporting documents.  I hear this is normal, but it still kind of sucks.
Online app  3/10/18
Biometrics app  9/10/18
Documents mailed out  10/10/18
Documents delivered  11/10 18   (according to ups)

We filed mid September and ours went via NY though arrived in Sheffield a couple of days after. I think we were somewhat lucky in that we were one of the very first to send to NY.

Daisy, did you receive an email from sheffield saying that they got your documents?

Yes we got our email from Sheffield five days after sending it so we were pleased! I think we got ours in just before the big changes happened.

Can I just check if it’s supposedly 60 business days from receipt of application (email from Sheffield) or is by application or biometrics? Hearing conflicting things!
