Thank you for explaining Just out of curiosity, having put our travel date at Jan 1st as we thought it would take a full 12 weeks/60 BD, how likely is it that our visa will be dated for Jan 1st?Or is it more common for it to be dated soon after issue of visa? I am just curious as our intended travel date is over a month away.
I’ve got money on January 1st, or within a week each side. We WANT them to honour the requested travel date. They went through a period where they didn’t honour travel dates and it was chaos.
What happens if the visa is granted afterward? They just do the next month as your vignette?
They will normally make it valid starting from about 7 days after the date they make the decision.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Our visa has been accepted and arrived today! Our entry date is 29th December so slightly earlier than our intended travel date but all fine. Thank you to everyone for your help - and apologies for being repetitive with my questions. As I’m sure you can understand, this is a huge part of our lives and I’m only so versed in it all.
That is amazing, congrats!! I just got my decision made email this morning, I am a bit worried because they asked me to resend our bank statements last week and i am also non priority so it seems a bit early. Sleep will not come easy these next few days while i wait to get my passport back. Not that it came easy to begin with during this entire process. I( checked my credit card to see if my IHS payment was refunded, and it was not so hopefully that is a good sign? Fingers crossed, it just seems too soon for non priority.
Refusals take time, approvals are quick. Also, I think with "scan gate" Sheffield has been quite quiet as there was a lull in getting applications there. I suspect they've been able to make good progress on the non-priority applications during that time. Absolutely nothing to worry about.
