Non-priority Spousal Visa Timeline

I'm happy to say that my husband's Visa has been approved.  Flight has been booked last night and he'll be here in 4 weeks time.

For everyone else's benefit to get an idea of what recent timescales are like, here's ours:

Visa applied for online & paid: 16/01/19.
Biometrics: 22/01/19.
Application & documents posted to NYC: 23/01/19.
UPS confirmed delivery: 25/01/19.
'Decision made' email:  26/03/19.
Received passport / Visa: 29/03/19.

Great news! Mine was submitted about the same time, I still haven't had a decision has been made email but I do have 2 children on my application as well. Maybe ours will be soon!

Just finished day 43 for me, no news aside from the ECO email on March 7th. My fiancé’s work is closed next week for holiday so I was really hoping to be there by then.

I keep having to remind myself that this is our last time apart, but man this is hard. We’ve had to do longer stretches apart, but knowing this should be the end of the waiting makes it unbearable.

44 working days now, still no news. Hoping for some positive news soon.

Oh I’m so sorry to hear that you haven’t had any news either!  That’s so strange about the ECO email.

I completely agree, the waiting is the absolute worst. For me, I think I did okay until about 35ish working days and then was like “Okay, enough is enough. I’m ready to be there now.” I wish we had had the money for priority but we’re both in our mid-20s at the start of our careers (with mine on hold due to all this) so we couldn’t swing it.

I hope you hear some news soon though! x

I'm in the process of formatting an email to the home office now, so hopefully some email will come this week with more information. It really is good knowing someone else knows how you feel. Not that I want you to be in the same position of not knowing! Haha

I hope you get some positive news via the HO. I’m 25 as well! Yeah, I’m a primary teacher (certified in Scotland, not the US so can’t work in the states) and feel like I’m going to struggle with this massive gap in my CV. But you do what you do for love.

Oh London is massively expensive so I completely understand your reasoning. My fiancé moved just outside Barrow-in-Furness for work so we’re in a cheap area, but with the wedding and FLR(M) to look forward to, it just wasn’t in the cards.

I know what you mean though. I kick myself everyday for not having us just get married in the States and apply priority spousal. He’s an only child though so we wanted to make sure his parents could attend.

It is!  I leave on Wednesday and enter the country on the 18th, which is the start date for me. Absolutely over the moon.
