Forgive me for updating so late but I've been a bit overwhelmed. On Monday I woke up and checked the tracker and it said, "Decided" on July 1st. Later that same day (July 3rd) I got both the decision email + tracking information email from Sheffield. I haven't slept in I don't know how many days and I literally sat at the front door and ran down the drive when I saw the UPS truck come down the block. It's a YES, thank God! I can't explain how nervous and scared I've been - but FINALLY after 6 months away from my child and husband, it's a yes! Bittersweet because my parents are so sad I'm leaving "already"!I want to thank each and every one of you that I spoke to here, you are all in my prayers. You are amazing, wonderful people who helped keep me sane, gave great advice, and helped me with numbers. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
SUCH WONDERFUL NEWS! I am crying (i know im crazy) im so glad you can all be together again
oh my god Americanmom I am so so so happy for you!!! ahhh this is so exciting!!! Congratulations!!!!
What a great news AmericanMom ! So happy for you !This makes us think why we did not try the "upgrade to priority " gamble too !This wait period is so so stressful .
awww! I'm crying too and my mom and my dad! I didn't realize how stressed they were for me. Thank you! I'm wishing and hoping everyone here hears back real soon with good news. I never got any acknowledgement that my priority was accepted, so I was a mess. Also I didn't initially mail in my receipt only emailed but then I decided to do it on Thursday. I think that may have helped. Priority is a gamble but I was willing to risk it because I was adamant to fly out in July regardless of the outcome. If it doesn't make a huge dent in your resources, you should consider it. We were told by the hotline NOT to do it...except once I called and got through to someone in NY and he was like "let me check with my manager...yes you can do it!" This is before they switched over to the newer crappier hotline.
Im sooooo thrilled for you!!! Congrats!! My Non priority application was received on June 7 and upgraded July 1. Can you tell me where you mailed your receipt? Did you just print the PDF? Thank you!
How didn't you check a tracker? Didn't you apply from within the U.K.? I can't find a tracker anywhere.
This is the tracker link. I believe it is not meant for outside of UK applications but seems to be working for some people. It says 'not recognised' until a day or so before the decision email when it gives the message decided for some people.https://contact-ukvi.homeoffice.gov.uk/app/visa_application/checkvisastatus [nofollow]
Ah, I see, thank you! Congrats AmericanMom!
Americanmom you give us so much hope that they're actually doing something over there! I know you've probably given this information in the past month, but I was wondering if you could give the steps on what you did for to upgrade retroactively?? Like the email address you sent the receipt to...and whether you sent in a physical copy of the receipt to Sheffield???I know you are probably swamped with packing and overall excitement but if you could spare some time that would be great I was secretly waiting to hear what your outcome would be but now it gives me a little incentive to upgrade...so in a way thank you for being the guinea pig !!!
I started openly weeping as I read this. My wait has only just officially started (application was received today), but I've been away from my husband for two months now and it's horrible. Congratulations!
