We too received bogus advice on this saying there would be little or no difference in paying for priority - that will the site strongly recommending against getting priority if you have been refused entry or otherwise have a more complicated application.  It disgusts me that day after day our application keeps getting kicked to the corner behind every priority that arrives that day.  There seems to be no real transparency on the way things really work and I truly don't think our solicitor has any clue either
I wish I had found this forum a month ago

If I had we would have only a couple more weeks to wait instead of hoping that they will find it in a month or two

We are also quite upset by the Theresa May amnesty offer to illegal immigrants on London- offering this to people who knowingly broke the law and letting the law abiding people and her own British citizens rot as they go through the process the right way disgusts me

Ok enough venting for now

Update; I got an email from Sheffield this morning regarding both my application and my sons :

Dear XXXXXXXXXX

Regarding Visa Application: XXXXXXXXXXX
For: XXXXXXXXX

Thank you for applying for a UK visa. Your visa application has been received and is under consideration.  We aim to process non settlement applications within 15 working days (unless you have opted for the Priority Visa service), and settlement applications within 60 working days.

Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible.

We will write to you again if there is any change to this. Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have been advised that your application has been decided and that your passport is ready for collection.

Kind Regards,

Sheffield Visa Section

Has anyone else received this email and how much longer did they have to wait beyond that? Just got back from the beach and saw the email from them was so happy for a split second until I read the whole thing. This Sunday I will be at 11 weeks. Currently at 52 working days.
Met November 2014
Engaged August 2016
Biometrics April 13 2017
Sent application out April 20 2017
Acknowledgement Email from Sheffield April 23 2017

I expect some of the more knowledgeable masterminds on here will be able to give more insight about what this means. I know its little consolation but a least you have had some contact from them?

Really hoping to hear something today as it is day 55, but also stressing that if I do we will probably be receiving the package on my birthday which could be the best but also the worst if it is not the answer we want!

Thoughts are with everyone waiting xxx

If all of you have received this today, I suspect it was sent in error.  Or they are simply saying that it's going to take more than 60 business days and are covering their tails.

If it was one email received, I would question it.  But seems like it's been sent to most everyone waiting.

Forgive me for updating so late but I've been a bit overwhelmed.

On Monday I woke up and checked the tracker and it said, "Decided" on July 1st. Later that same day (July 3rd) I got both the decision email + tracking information email from Sheffield. I haven't slept in I don't know how many days and I literally sat at the front door and ran down the drive when I saw the UPS truck come down the block.

It's a YES, thank God!

I can't explain how nervous and scared I've been - but FINALLY after 6 months away from my child and husband, it's a yes! Bittersweet because my parents are so sad I'm leaving "already"!

I want to thank each and every one of you that I spoke to here, you are all in my prayers. You are amazing, wonderful people who helped keep me sane, gave great advice, and helped me with numbers. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

"Human" is a noun. "Black", "White", "Asian", "Latino", "Indigenous", "Male", "Female", "GLBT", "Straight", "Christian", "Jewish", "Muslim", "Buddhist", "Hindu", "Pagan", "Conservative", "Liberal", are all adjectives.
