Looks like they want to buy more time from the applicant so you don't reach out to your MP and thats going to make them answerable to people for failed SLAs.

I haven't heard anything.... I don't know whether to take this as a good sign or a bad one.... maybe chaotic neutral....

I was at my lowest this weekend, we initially got a refusal back in February and each time my daughter got her hopes I would be back, it broke my heart all over again. She had it in her head that I would be there for Mother's Day and then her brother's birthday, and we just celebrated the end of Ramadan. It got progressively harder. I missed out on 6 months of my kid's life, can't help but feel like a terrible mom.

Doing the best you can with what you've got is all anybody can do. When she grows up and has her own kids she'll know what you went through. It's a temporary investment of difficulties to gain long term awesomeness (throws good luck at you) ;0)

Wise visa Gods that have been on here for a while. Do any of you know what the wait time was for May non priority the last couple of years? I'll be at roughly 70 business days the last week of August. Just wondering if I'll hear back by then or not...thanks to any input :)

Day 55, have received the email a few have got today stating 'Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to deiced your application withing our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible'.

I have contacted my MP explaining the situation. After reading it for the millionth time, I do not believe that my application has not been straightforward but that they just haven't got to it in time. If it is the case, how dare they make it my fault that the application is taken longer.

My sadness has turned to anger today  :-X

Update; I got an email from Sheffield this morning regarding both my application and my sons :

Dear XXXXXXXXXX

Regarding Visa Application: XXXXXXXXXXX
For: XXXXXXXXX

Thank you for applying for a UK visa. Your visa application has been received and is under consideration.  We aim to process non settlement applications within 15 working days (unless you have opted for the Priority Visa service), and settlement applications within 60 working days.

Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible.

We will write to you again if there is any change to this. Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have been advised that your application has been decided and that your passport is ready for collection.

Kind Regards,

Sheffield Visa Section

Has anyone else received this email and how much longer did they have to wait beyond that? Just got back from the beach and saw the email from them was so happy for a split second until I read the whole thing. This Sunday I will be at 11 weeks. Currently at 52 working days.

heidiveronica - I am SO sorry for saying this morning that this email offers some consolation that they have contacted you. I have received this email and it has made me feel so much worse and very angry.

Last year we had a few non-priority applicants that waited until the last week of September/first week in October.  June/July/August were cleared in October (all completed in about 3 weeks).

Check the tracker with your GWF#, I am hopeful it was sent in error and should have been a decision email because on the tracker it now says me and my sons applications were decided on July 5th and I received that email yesterday the 6th about it not being straightforward. I am trying to stay positive :)

Kfdancer thank you so much for the insight! Imy husband booked a holiday in Spain the first week in September sooo I'll probably do the retroactive upgrade to 1. Ease my mind 2. Hopeful speed up the process 🤞🏽

Short answer: Wait until your passport has been delivered and open it up to see if there's a visa inside :).

Longer answer: There is no way to find out what the decision is until you receive your package back. They do not tell you what the outcome is and so the only way to know is when you open the package to find out.

OMG! Congrats! I'm so excited for you

(And a lesser extent myself cause it means they're getting close to me)

I don't believe that they put the result in the email much to the eternal frustration of all.
