I would reference the priority upgrade in the subject line so that they know it is time sensitive.

"Priority Service Upgrade-payment receipt attached" or similar should do it!

Others that have been successful have also mailed a hard copy to Sheffield, so I would do that too if I were you.   Hit them with both barrels! :)

Good luck!  :)

Thank you larrabee!...hopefully something can come of this :)

Update; I got an email from Sheffield this morning regarding both my application and my sons :

Dear XXXXXXXXXX

Regarding Visa Application: XXXXXXXXXXX
For: XXXXXXXXX

Thank you for applying for a UK visa. Your visa application has been received and is under consideration.  We aim to process non settlement applications within 15 working days (unless you have opted for the Priority Visa service), and settlement applications within 60 working days.

Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible.

We will write to you again if there is any change to this. Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have been advised that your application has been decided and that your passport is ready for collection.

Kind Regards,

Sheffield Visa Section

Has anyone else received this email and how much longer did they have to wait beyond that? Just got back from the beach and saw the email from them was so happy for a split second until I read the whole thing. This Sunday I will be at 11 weeks. Currently at 52 working days.

So we got this email on Friday too, on the off chance I tried the tracker with our application ref - it says it was decided on 6th of July. heidiveronica I thought you would want know. This is the link if you want to try it yourself https://contact-ukvi.homeoffice.gov.uk/app/visa_application/checkvisastatus

Has anyone used the tracker and able to confirm that it would be right and not a glitch? We have tried it before (few weeks ago) but it didnt work

Yes, I tried the link daily and only after I received my decision email did the tracker return the message "decided". I would say your application is decided and they simply sent an incorrect email.

Thanks Emily. That's good to know. We are really at our wits end. Due to other family circumstances we have been apart since December. Tough after 8 years in each others pockets. Such a cruel process.

It really is cruel and I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I'm sending lots of positive thoughts into the ether for your being reunited very very soon.
