Happy to inform you all that we received the package today.

Yippee... ;D

Planning to be in London by Aug.

A great big thank you to the forum organisers and participants for the encouragement.

It will be wonderful for the members of Mar-Apr-May to meet in London for drinks after everyone arrives.

Best of luck

Sometimes they let things slide but I would be very surprised if they let you off with only 5 months of bank statements.  Which category did you use?

You should definitely prepare the missing documents so that you can send them if they ask for them and hope that they do.

Since my husband is going to study, the savings was the only category we met since he won't be able to work. I know I did send six statements, my fear is that one of them only shows half of a month and so I've technically only supplied 5.5 months of bank statements. EEEK! Thanks for the help though.

Yes, the savings on which you are relying must have been in your account for a full 6 months prior to the date of application.  Was that the case and you just didn't send the statements for the full length of time or had you not held the savings for 6 months at the time you applied?

The savings were there. I just think I missed half a month in the documents I sent.

That's good. Let's keep fingers crossed that they ask for the missing statement dates.

OKAY! Guys and gals, I've just called to hold my visa shipment at my local UPS centre, and I just wanted to post the process on here so everyone can see this. I know we've posted about calling UPS here.

NOTE: I paid for the VFS return service. I do not know how to track applications without this service, but I'm assuming that if you got your decision email that you have some way of tracking (tracking number) that visa shipment back to the US.

1. I called the UPS International Shipping Customer Call number (1-800-782-7892)

2. The automated voice asked me what service I wanted and gave me a  list of options. I didn't hear anything that applied to "hold my delivery" so I said "customer service" and was redirected to customer service.

3. I pressed 2 for an internationally shipped package (shipped from UK to US)

4. Customer service rep came on the phone.

5. I told her (in this case) that I wanted to hold my package at my nearest UPS center cause I wouldn't be around my house for the delivery (sort of true)

6. She said that was fine and asked for my tracking number (If you used VFS: this is located either in your VFS payment emailed receipt or in the second email Sheffield sent right after your decision email. Mine began with IZ).

7. I told her the address of my local UPS facility. She confirmed the address.

8. I double checked the business hours with her because Google lies.

9. She informed me that it will be held at my UPS facility from the day it arrives in my city (projected to be 12 July) and for the next five days (17 July).

10. She told me to bring a government issued ID with either my name on it which corresponded with the name on the package OR the same address as the package. (My US Driver's License will suffice for this).

I don't know if this is helpful, but I remember a bunch of people on the April timeline asking about this scenario. So I went ahead and did it, wrote down my steps, and I'm passing it along to you all.

Congratulations on the approval. :)
That is very odd though. The start date on your vignette is the 6th of November? What date did you put as your intended travel date? When did you apply?
You are supposed to be only able to request a travel date up to 3 months after the date of the online application.

yes, positive about the dates...just double checked everything. i don't know what the deal is with the approval of my travel dates - i applied in late march and sheffield got my application on april 23...

go figure! but i have figured out that yes the BRP scan be picked up in the U.K. within in 30 days of my vignette start date...

Did you see Ksands reply to you above just checking whether you're reading the dates the UK way 11/6 (11th June) or US way 11/6 (6th Nov)?

Are you thinking of trying to get it changed to an earlier date, or did you plan for November?
