Follow up!

I picked up my application from my UPS centre and opened it with my mom literally holding my hand.

And I got accepted!

I've been crying and twitching in so much happiness. I had such a terrible day yesterday, and this was the perfect pick me up.

I'm spending the next couple days packing up and searching for flights.

A big thanks to all the fantastic forum people for advice and generally keeping me slightly more sane than I normally am <3

Excellent!!

We applied on 16th March! Received our email from Sheffield on 4th April...!!!!!!!!!
Seems like we are the unlucky ones who are having a lot more problems than most. If only I knew what the actual problem was, instead of living in limbo with no information, no news, no nothing!

(sends the flying monkeys with two palm trees, a hammock, a pile of cookies, and a pitcher of something damned decent)

Both of our applications were approved !!Even though they made me pay separate return shipping on each and sent them both in the same package so I wasted 141 dollars. Wonder if I can get that refunded. I'm just so relieved and thankful!! Its been a stressful 11 weeks almost 12.

Coolbeads!

I think I have seen somewhere on here about intercepting packages so you can get them early. How do you go about doing this?

I posted about it here: http://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=91037.msg1183868#msg1183868

Thank you Solaire  ;D

NP!

It was honestly fantastic for me because my UPS delivers anytime between 9 AM and 7 PM, and I had stuff to do after 4 PM...

Just finished my last visit (for a while) with my brother and his two young daughters. And omg, after running around after them for 48 hours, I have a new healthy respect for parents.

So we decided to retroactively upgrade on 30th June, after receiving a reply email from them saying this was possible (Golden State Cate's application). On 4th July, we sent an email using the paid service asking for them to confirm it's been honoured, and never got a reply, even though they promise one in two BDs.
So last week I called the call centre and they apologised, said they'd send Golden State Cate another email with questions for her to complete and reply to, then this would facilitate them to reply confirming...(?!?!). The woman also said she was certain it'd be honoured.
Anyway, surprise surprise no email. We're now at 40 BDs and just immensely frustrated at the lack of communication and lies they tell.

Sorry, rant over.

The phone line and email are 100% useless.

Did you physically post a copy of the priority upgrade to Sheffield?  That seems to be how people are receiving the "we have placed your application in the priority queue" email.

No, we didn't do that. I wonder if it's worth doing that now, given the late stage? Which address to use? The same as we sent the docs to?

Yes, same address.  Certainly worth it, you paid $700!!!

I'd just be worried that they'd then place it at the back of the priority queue, which would actually add time on to the wait rather than the expect around 15 days days we have to wait non-priority which seems to be the average, if you see what I mean?
