Hi All,

New to this forum, but thought I would add my wife's details here so that we can also start looking into June/July applications.

Type of Visa - Settlement (Wife) - Family of settled person

Online Application Submission Date: 24th June 2017

Bio-metrics Done in NYC: 7th July 2017

Fedex Tracking Delivered to Sheffield: July 14th 2017 (all docs)

Acknowledgment email from UKVI: No - However called UKVI and was informed that the application is ready to assessed and that all the documents were received by Sheffield. (spoke to UKVI service centre today: 20th July 2017 and was informed that application was ready to be processed and was with an ECO)

Projected Date: September/October 2017

Anyone else who has applied in June/July know what the approx wait times are? I ask because there seems to be a lot of discussions around earlier applications which are just being progressed now in the non-priority queue?

Additionally, any ideas why some people seem to get acknowledgment emails and some not....?

Thanks :)

P.S. Happy to be added onto the spreadsheet

It can take a couple of weeks to receive the acknowledgement email for a non-priority application, so yours might just not have been sent yet.

For the record though, all they mean when they say 'application is ready to be processed' is that your application has been put in the queue and will be assessed by an ECO when they get to it... there could be hundreds of applications in line ahead of yours which need to be processed before the ECO gets to yours.

Current non-priority processing times seem to be around 50-55 working days.

Looking at the spreadsheet, most people who applied in April got their decisions in early July. No one from May has received a decision yet and there have only been two non-priority applications added to the spreadsheet since May (none in June and two in mid-July).

It's just an automated email sent when they open the application... sometimes applications are missed and they forget to send the email.

You've applied at a really busy time.  It could be another week or so before you get the email.  Sadly that when the "clock" for their processing standard starts.  So sometimes they play the game of sending the email later (last year non-priority took two months to get the email at the peak!).

Hello and welcome the the little happy band of July applicants! I was a bit disappointed to find out that the count doesn't start until you get the email and that could be two months! Ours got opened in about four days though, so don't get despondent yet!

Unfortunately, yes.  But the good news is that Sheffield seems to be working much quicker on non-priority applications this year!
