Speaking of not having a filter, what's with Americans these days?  People will walk up to you and say any old crap any time.  Is this new or is it just because I was alone?

Maybe I've just lived in the UK too long, where people would sooner poke out an eye before talking to a stranger.  The last time I was in the states I noticed that people would just talk to any stranger at any time about anything.  It was like being at a cocktail party or something.

In my previous visits here and since I moved here, I would have to agree. It is a very different mind set for sure!

Yeah...I'm from NY but now I live in Kent, and people here are much chattier to strangers than they were back where I lived in the states.

That's true!  I've often noticed that when I get out of London.  I remember noticing that people in Liverpool were particularly nice in a non London way.

We drove up from London a few years back to see those giant 40 foot tall marionettes walking around town.  What a good time that was.

I am from the Midwest so I try to make friends with everyone I meet.  It drives my husband crazy.

I am going to Liverpool in July and now you both have made me super excited!

Liverpool loves Americans!  Liverpool has had such bad press over the years.  Hubby was nervous and not sure what reception he would get.  They loved him. We won't be living in Liverpool but will be settling nearby - Hubby is an honorary Scouser.

Hmmm, any guesses? 

We will be there for about 2 days. Definitely hitting up the big Beatles sites (my mom and brother are doing a pilgrimage trail in Spain so my dad and I are doing our own pilgrimage). I welcome any great local suggestions for anything else we should check out!
