I remember seeing on the Internet a few years back where you could buy ice-powered (for want of a better term) coolers, yes.

We went with a Windchaser 9000 and it cooled a 15x15 room down from 95F to a tolerable 82F, and condensed the moisture and used it to cool the motor before expelling it out the vent tube to the outside. Lovely unit, on wheels, very practical. We left it behind when we moved over here in the firm hope/belief/prayer that we would never need it again. Ever.
Had the Windchaser for about 10 years, only ran it a few days each year, and it was as good on the day we gave it to a friend as it had been when we brought it home. Not sure they make them any longer, but if so I'd highly recommend it as it has an air purifier and can also just function as a room fan.
