Oy. I've no right to complain, what with seeing all these folks who have been waiting for months...but d**n if this process isn't made to try us! In our nine years together, my husband and I have been apart for more than a couple of days exactly twice. Last year, I spent six weeks working in Romania, and now this craziness. He left to start his new job in Wantage on 3 July, and its surprising to me how much harder this is than the last time, what with not knowing what the end date to it all will be.
Kudos to you all who keep so upbeat and positive!!!

At least to some degree, waiting is waiting is waiting, no matter the length. And it's miserable being apart.
Welcome to our karaoke bar, we'll try to supply enough shiny glitter to keep each other distracted!

Was in a local department store today and found myself in the craft section looking at glitter and other shiny stuff! Thought of you guys!  :D

Hands up! ;D  I think it may be a confidence thing! ;) I also may have taken that 'have frequent breaks' advice a little bit too literally!  ;D

Totally agree that it is the open ended nature of it that makes it so hard to deal with. We have been managing the long distance since we met but always had a flight planned and even though we only had a couple of weeks together at a time we were always counting down. We are now approaching the longest separation we have had and by a very long way the hardest. It's the community here that keeps us upbeat. I don't know how i would have got through without it. Today - with my wife waiting for UPS delivery and the outcome over there - is the longest day ever - and been keeping sooooo busy.

The frequent breaks are essential for consuming the constant supply of rainbow glitter cakes  and of course tea.

You do realize Emily, that we expect to hear the very second that package gets opened right?

I do! LOL I have had more than a couple of messages to say the same. It has been out for delivery since 5am! We were just on what's app and she heard a car door so 'we' went to the door - nothing! It is getting harder to breathe by the hour, and somehow the proportional chances of refusal seem to be increasing as oxygen levels decrease  ::)

MINE'S A YES

I feel you on the oxygen levels. It's been a gamble all morning on whether or not I was going to pass out before it got here.

Congratulations CharlieB!! I know how tough it is to wait on that UPS guy, I think I scared him when he finally came to the door! We were on FaceTime when it came!

I had it delivered to work, and the mail room sent out a message this morning that they were closing for a celebratory long lunch off campus. I nearly crawled out of my skin. But luckily, it came before they left!

Yay!!! If I had any air in my lungs I'd sing an anthem in your honour! When's the wedding?! We're all invited right?!
