I think my motivation was seeing a bunch of amigurumi online. I've done loads of pokemon, and now they just sit around my house. It was harder to find the patterns for knitting as opposed to crochet so I went with that  ::)

Though that dragon (below) is fantastic!

Thank you!  :)  Have you seen some of the teeeeny tiiiiny ones on Etsy? They are minuscule and totally awesome!

Yes! They're precious. I can only make mine as tiny as the length of my hand (like 6 inches?). I'm not skilled enough for the micro stuff... but one day!

That dragon is amazing! I am very impressed with that. Must have taken ages, a lot of patience and some serious dedication.

I really thought long and hard about posting this because I've only been here five minutes and I don't want to be seen as abusing the forum, but if anyone fancies doing some origami, there's info on my blog:  origamiexpressions.com

It's what keeps me sane between visits, and gives us something to talk about and work together on as my other half is a struggling blogger too. She's got a travel blog: twotravelingtexans.com

Note to moderators - if posting that breaches forum rules or good etiquette, then apologies, please delete and I'll take the slap on the wrists!

I can't remember what rules say about posting links etc. But welcome to our karaoke and craft survival thread! I'm sure you're origami expertise will be an inspiration. Thread membership requires singing the new version of I Will Survive above loudly at random intervals, and you will receive an elusive pink toaster... probably  :P

Thank you Russ!  ;D  It took a couple of months of knitting but I would have spent hours at it each day, it's addictive!

Origami is something else I tried but not with great success. I think I managed to make a bird of some variety!   I used to work in Chinatown in Los Angeles and was given some of those money origami which I love and have kept for good luck.  Your work is fantastic! Yoda is the cutest!  ;D ;D

Thanks!  I've been doing it since I was about 8. There's not many other things other tha eating and sleeping I've been doing that long. Some of it is pretty simple, but other stuff, like the Hippocampus is complex and takes ages. That one took nine attempts, each one three or four hours long!

Married 3 months today!

Today's achievement - installed water butt before the rain comes later today.

Also spent last of birthday voucher on couple of Autumn flowering plants - having already planted seeds and plugs and plants to be in bloom when she got here (which they would have been!)

Today's concentration and energy levels -5
Today's irritation with everything levels +25
Average length of each minute today - 2.5 hours

Will knit more rows later!

Long time listener, first time poster.  I'm still waiting for my elusive pink toaster.  It's become critical as my stainless steel one has broken.  Unlike my toaster, I Will Survive!  :P

Ooo nice go on the plants. I like the look of plants yet can't take care of them. I have a death thumb.

I once grew a wildflower for a biology project. It grew up, curled in on itself, and grew back down into the soil. It was beautifully mutated that my teacher had to go show the other science teachers.

And unfortunately, that luck extends to all plants.  [smiley=bigcry.gif]

I'm not amazing at gardening either so I tend to play a numbers game. Plant enough of anything and something's bound to take!  ;)

My dad had the best idea. He moved into a house that had gorgeous wildflowers, and his philosophy was "well they're wild... so let nature take care of them."

I really want to have a small herb windowsill garden. Or the mason jar garden that I've seen online. Cause I like fresh herbs in my cooking... Better than paying Tesco loads everytime I want some basil....

Ok beautiful people I've rewritten 'I Will Survive' just for us. I didnt need to change much! You need to listen to it whilst singing our version, preferably loud and repetitively.

Well, this did it. While tearing up reading this I decided it was time to bite the bullet and pay my dues so I could post. Thank you for the giggle - I LOVE parody writing and I needed the laugh.

Was drawn to the pink toaster aspects of this thread!  :) unfortunately my brain is too tangled to knit but I've started baking again.

Might even tackle that cross stitch and try to start the gym again (not sure baking and the gym quite work together lol)

I always find stress makes me more creative or crazy  :D

Oh what wonderful inspiring, funny, creative and kind messages to come back to. I might reply more later - feeling really tired having managed to keep myself busy today. Just wanted to say something though, as these messages here are really lifting my spirits :)
