Onto week 2 of fun triathlon training now. Run today...

TravellingFrog or other moderators, what's the view on posting a link to my Just Giving page? Raising money for Mind Out LGBTQ mental health charity. No problem if not, and know we all gave our every last penny to UKVI, but thought there's a fair bit of mental health empathy on here!  ;)

Trying to stay focused at work while my package to Sheffield is just sitting in Kentucky is so hard. It was so anticlimactic handing all my docs to UPS, where they clearly hated their jobs, that I truly hope it ended up on the right truck!

It really is such an intense and involved run up to submitting the docs isn't it? And then it's like ugh now we just wait! I think UPS are pretty good aren't they? Hope you get your reassuring receipt in Sheffield email in not too long :)

Yes, I set it so my husband will get notifications too. He's as nervous as I am!

Thank you so much for posting this. I'm having a low day with the wait and as is my husband who is generally the voice of optimism. This gave me some comfort to see that the debate is very much alive but saddened that it is clear that under the current climate, the rules are unlikely to flex and therefore UKVI will continually make errors due to the pressures of draconian rules which divide the poor and wealthy exponentially.

For our personal situation just a live, carefully maintained, tracker for actual 'Outside of the UK' applicants - Some transparency is better than none.

On the plus side it's sunny in my part of the UK and I'm now making fabric birthday banners for my friend's surprise part...The little things count so much  :)
It was really interesting to watch and disheartening at some responses and a reminder I think that we all could make a great difference in exposing all the injustice and outrage we feel  and address many issues including lack of communication and the outrageous paid phone call and email program that is useless!

Excellent! Rrally looking forward to hearing how you get on. I have to confess I didnt get past the first few rows of my blanket! Lol Those rows and this thread helped me hugely though and were my first steps to getting more physically grounded again.

I tried my hand at it last night and was so discouraged by the sheer amount of jargon! But I did manage to cast on, knit a few rows of knit stitches, and cast off. It looks really messy, has a hole where I dropped a stitch, and really horrible corners because I had no clue about the first stitch being a slip stitch... I also bought the wrong size of needles for the yarn, but it's a start. Did anyone else actually try to learn to knit??

I wanted to upload a picture but I am stupid at technology and can't figure out how to.

That's it, you're knitting! Congratulations! ;D

Just do what you just did again but keep going for a bit longer and you'll have a scarf!  :D

Wow that sounds really impressive! What kept happening with the Knitwork project I did (and I am not a knitter!) was people would somehow add stitches each row so the squares would be not so much squares. My friend who is an artist and jeweller knitted a square in wire! I tried a couple of rows - it was hard!!!

I don't know how to add direct pictures - I don't know if Larrabee is going to do that though with the origami frog picture so guess we might get instructions? I want to add picture of my resident frog, tho haven't seen it for weeks.

The easiest way to add a photo is to download Tapatalk and login to the forum through that.  Then you just click the "mountain" button.
