Might even tackle that cross stitch and try to start the gym again (not sure baking and the gym quite work together lol)

I love cross stitch! I've done many book marks (my favorite) and am currently working on Henry VIII and his wives. Definitely labors of love.

Wow I bet that is going to look awesome when it's finished  :). I'm very much a beginner so I'm currently working on a cute Chinese lucky cat design but one day of love to do the bigger designs. Maybe I'll have a look for the bookmarks to make as gifts, thankyou for the inspiration  :)

Married 3 months today!

Today's achievement - installed water butt before the rain comes later today.

Also spent last of birthday voucher on couple of Autumn flowering plants - having already planted seeds and plugs and plants to be in bloom when she got here (which they would have been!)

Today's concentration and energy levels -5
Today's irritation with everything levels +25
Average length of each minute today - 2.5 hours

Will knit more rows later!

Congratulations!

You had a productive day. I'm impressed.

Tried singing The Song at work. Got several odd looks and banished to the meeting room in the basement.

I saw that - My first thought was that was funny!  My second was to wish I'd not opted for a paperless TV licence...

Do you think if I sang The Song, I would stop getting The Sad Eyes from the well-meaning coworkers who ask 9 bazillion times a day if we've had any visa news?

You need to show physical mail in both your names to the same address for your next visa so you should switch all your bills/accounts to paper (might as well get started on that now) and get your wife added to everything as soon as she gets to the UK.

So next year, you will have an origami tv license!  :D Maybe better not fold it until FLR is approved though!  ;)

I could fold all the evidence into a different animal, the application form into an ark and send them that. Might work if they've got a sense of humour?

There has been zero evidence that they have a sense of humor (humour).

This is too funny!! That's American for this is funny, just in case any co-Brits need reminding.
I now have accumulating images, trays of cupcakes being distributed  round the treadmills at the gym; origami evidence being presented to UKVI (I'd already seen the TV licence post on the other thread really made me laugh); and basement banished Divas and dragons consoling themselves with cross stich. I love our 'thread'! Thanks so much. Yesterday evening I felt peaceful and last night I slept sound for first time in so long (except the odd week when I've been with my wife). I also feel like I have stopped feeling so immobilsed in limbo. I was still doing tasks and getting engaged with stuff in meantime, but almost like on auto-pilot. Yesterday I started feeling that sense of hope, moving forward and creative flow again. Phew! Now I was cupcake - treadmills, not so much.

Long time listener, first time poster.  I'm still waiting for my elusive pink toaster.  It's become critical as my stainless steel one has broken.  Unlike my toaster, I Will Survive!  :P

Oh no a toaster crisis! Yes this elusive pink toaster is becoming almost as hard to materialise as a visa from UKVI!!

Well, this did it. While tearing up reading this I decided it was time to bite the bullet and pay my dues so I could post. Thank you for the giggle - I LOVE parody writing and I needed the laugh.

So glad you joined us. Laughing and crying helps! I whisper shouted it to myself defiantly several times that particular sleepless night. It helped!

My dad had the best idea. He moved into a house that had gorgeous wildflowers, and his philosophy was "well they're wild... so let nature take care of them."

I really want to have a small herb windowsill garden. Or the mason jar garden that I've seen online. Cause I like fresh herbs in my cooking... Better than paying Tesco loads everytime I want some basil....

Ha! Good strategy on the wildflowers. I decided that the wildlife needed a good section of the border to be wild!

My friends had planters with flowers and herbs mixed in, so I've copied that (though following their advice to pot mint on its own and put rosemary into the border and I agree its lovely having fresh herbs to cook with.
