The yarn was a birthday gift, so even better! It's by a company called Malabrigo. I used 3 skeins of lace weight for the body and sleeves, at £7 each, and about half of a skein of Rios (sport weight) for the hem, collar, and cuffs , which was £13 for the full skein.

Nice quality yarn then!  It does look very expensive, so I'm not surprised at the cost of the materials.  You would have easily paid £100 for that in a shop!  I want one!   :D

if I ever recover enough to crochet another hexagon, I'll let you know.
It's 100% baby merino, so it feels like hugging a kitten to wear it.

My Visa Celebration Sweater is finished (yarn arrived the same day as my BRP)!

Beautiful! I am not that skilled but working on some sweaters that are size less as a foray into fitted things.
Malabrigo yarn is very nice. I want to find some nice lace weight cotton cuz I can't handle wool (even the soft wool is too itchy to me) and try some more patterns once the current projects are done.

I'm making myself finish some projects  before I start anything new. I've got quite the backlog of works in progress! The lace weight is fun to work with, even if it is slow with such tiny stitches.

It was bordering on embarrassing packing up to come here I had so many half projects. Oops! I have a giant bag of yarn in my shopping crate to keep me occupied for a while.

Lol - works every time  ;)

I barely know how to knit, but I ran a Survivors Knitwork project linking Survivors and supporters round the UK for a couple of years and I learnt a lot from the contributors, mostly that knitting brings people together and helps our mental health :)

Do you have knitting needles KFdancer? There are some good online resources showing how to cast on, and a scarf is a good starting point.

I crochet! Emily, are you a survivor?

Hello, good to see this thread still being used. It was huge support to me while waiting for Beth's visa back in the summer. Yes, CSA survivor. Did quite a lot of writing and a knitting project over a few years, drawing together lifetime of threads - was a creative and healing time. Beth has been here since August now, and is beginning to feel at home, and loving her job with Nationwide which she started in January. We are thinking of everyone currently  going through the ordeal of waiting for the first visa. Well worth the wait.

Hey!!! :) Yes all good, though we're going to hospital tomorrow for follow up on Beth's good knee (her other one has been injured for over forty years so this one decided to protest last week). Good old NHS. Hope life is good with you. Still waiting for you to come to Rhymetime! :)
