So the Home Office took my money out of my account, but I got no email saying my application was received. Is that normal?

It's all done by post once you're here in the country. You'll get a letter in the next week or so, inviting you to take your biometrics at a Post Office.

Completely normal - they don’t send any emails for in-country applications.

Everything is done by post - so you should receive both an application acknowledgement letter and a biometrics invite letter in the next week or two.

Hello All,

I just submitted and sent all my documents to Sheffield this week. They have taken my money and I have completed and sent in my Biometrics.

I am confused because people are saying they were waiting for an invitation to go but  my application said to do it and send everything in within 15 days.

This is my first FLR(M), I am coming off a Fiancé visa.

Good luck to all and congrats to those who already have theirs!

I am by far the expert and maybe one of them will chime in soon but I thought u had to send FLR(M) applications to Durham not Sheffield? Then they send you an invite for the biometrics .... only time we did it to Sheffield and got them done first was for the very first fiance visa :-/

I sent my fiancé application to Sheffield too but I was following the instructions on the paper I received.

I am going to double check it.

Thank you.

Depends if you used the online application or the paper application on where it is sent.

But you definitely don't do biometrics until AFTER it's submitted and UKVI sends the letter to take to the post office.  Are you thinking of your initial biometrics you had done in the USA?

I double checked and my letter said I needed to do my Biometrics within 15 days of the letter, which was received 4 December. I took a screenshot but I am not sure how to attach it.

I just get a little freaked out because the process is so tedious and I worry I miss things.

Did you do the online application for FLR?

The process is different than if you used the paper form and we're not so familiar with it.

Yes, online application and after I paid there were documents that I needed to download, sign and send and the biometrics was one of them or came in an email.

Can I ask why a majority did the mail in application?

Yes, online, so I suppose thats why the Biometrics letter came immediately.

I'm sorry for being so spazzy about this, the Fiancé visa process scarred me.

The online application is still quite new and VERY buggy.  So most people opt for the paper version after losing the will to live with the online version.

Don't worry, it's not you!  ;D It's the online application process that's stupidly complicated compared to the paper form.
Sounds like you've done what was asked of you though so you're right on track!  ;D
