I got my BRP today! That means I'm approved, right?!

I haven't gotten any letter or my passport back though?

Woo hoo!  Yes, you are all done.

They send the passport separately, for protection of identity.  You'll receive it in the next few days.  :)

OMG YESSSSSSS! Happy Halloween to me! Thanks for all your help again! :)

Not that there was any reason to deny me, but what a relief!

Yep - your BRP is your visa... so you wouldn't have received it if it wasn't approved :). Congratulations!

They send the letter, the passport and your documents back separately (usually before the BRP, but sometimes they arrive out of order).

Also, do I need to carry the BRP with me? Or is it better to leave it in a safe place at home?

Nope, no need to carry it with you. I would keep it in a safe place at home with your passport.

As ksand said, no need to carry it with you, or ID of any kind for that matter. That feels strangely freeing to me on the rare occasion that I jump into my car with nothing more than my keys with me!

Whereas it's the other way around for me when I drive in the US and have to remember to take my driver's licence with me everywhere I go! The last two times my mum has come with me to the US, she's forgotten her  licence (she still has an old paper UK licence with no photo), which means I've had to do all the driving :P.

Yes, this is very weird! I have my driving licence in a small wallet with my debit card, so I generally have it with me, but if I'm just running out on the school run or something, I often don't have anything except keys!

Excellent! I have it now to provide to HR as they have been chasing me! But then I will leave it in our lock box at home!

Not just you! The day we moved in, we were locked out for half the day until we could track down a spare set with the lettings agent!

Hello lovely people!

Just thought I'd add my timeline on here, as I've just received my documents/passport back and I've been approved for another 30 months!!  :D
However, my BRP has not arrived yet, I assume it will come in the next few days or so.  I was surprised to find that they don't put another visa in your passport; I guess the BRP serves as your visa extension.

Here's my timeline:
Submitted application: 11 September
Received biometrics request letter: 21 September
Biometrics submitted: 27 September
Documents returned and visa granted: 27 October

Best of luck to anyone else going through at the moment!  Definitely a weight off! (at least for the next 30 months)  ;)
