Hello from someone in Missouri who needs help...
« on: July 17, 2017, 10:20:21 PM »
Hello, my name is Denise, I just turned fifty, and I'm currently in an online relationship with someone in Rugby that I've known for a long time. We are both in the same profession, and have conferred together on many things, so our relationship developed over time. Yes, we've discussed my eventually coming over there and staying on a permanent basis (as in marriage), but that's going to be down the road a bit.

So, I plan on visiting very soon, but he's currently in a houseshare that doesn't allow visitors to stay, and may not be able to get settled into a flat before my trip. After checking on hotels in the area, I've realized how much it will cost for me to stay for 14 days, and I was in shock! So, I'm curious to if anyone knows of other options?? Or, do hotels give discounts for that kind of an extended stay?? (Should I post this question in another area?)

Thank you all so much, and I'm so eager to begin learning more about the process of my eventual move there.

Denise

Have you tried Airbnb? www.airbnb.co.uk

But yeah, the UK is expensive.

Okay, I just tried it again, only this time I actually put some dates in to help with the search...and I struck gold!! Thank you so much!! I would never have tried it again, if you hadn't mentioned it.

Thank you!! My trip isn't for another few months, but I don't like leaving things until the last minute. I'm waiting on my passport now. Yep, my first trip out of the country. Heck, my first trip anywhere...and on a plane! I'm so nervous!!

I encourage you to plan some travel in as well! There's a lot of beautiful areas around the country to see with your partner. :)

I also like little bed and breakfasts. I found mine through tripadvisor & kayak.com, and it was much less than a hotel! Some may also be on AirBnB but those are often just people renting out part of their home. Safe travels!

Thank you everyone, for being so welcoming. And, please forgive me for not responding sooner. But, unfortunately, things have now fallen totally apart and I will not being making the journey. At least, not for the reasons of being a part of someone's life that lives there.

So sorry Denise but better to find out sooner rather than later I think.
