I'm now thinking my contributions are going to suck.   :-\\\\

Nah, you'll be great!  :D You can't go wrong with what you put in the box!

That box is really cool! And your cat is beautiful. I have a black cat too.

Thanks historyenne! Yes, I saw your pics... gorgeous!  ;D

Love it!  ;D. It's beautiful and so tactile too! And I actually feel quite honoured to have a piece of your work.

hehehe  When I'm making something, I do this thing....  ::)  ... I give it the "spam test".  That is, I rub it across my spam (forehead) to see how it feels.  My spam liked your box.  That's how I knew it was ready.  (Don't worry, my husband assures me pretty much daily that I am weird.  I'm aware.)

Aww, thanks... I am so glad you appreciate it.  I wasn't sure how well it would be received.  You've made me very happy.

Randomly a 10kg bag of dog food was delivered today.  Should I put that in the box?   ;D

hahaha I would find that useful as I think I'll need to do a dog food run within the next two weeks. If everybody could leave that one in the box, it would save me money and be greatly appreciated! hahahah

That box certainly did raise the bar.  I'm going to shave a "UK Yankee" design in the cat's fur.

I'll be honest, a year ago today, we were just collecting the keys to our new house-with-outbuildings, and the workshop was only a thing I wanted.  Apart from having access to a basic garage "workshop" space (cheap table saw, a compound miter saw, and a handheld electric sander) at my parents' house growing up, and a semester of wood shop in 7th grade, I have less than a year of experience.

But if someone trusted my lack-of-experience I'm happy to try.  Do you have something in mind?  We've got a few projects going at the moment taking up most of the workshop (and our time!), but in a couple of weeks, I should be able to sort something out.  And I can always start the design work now.  :)

If you're taking orders, @jfkimberly, I'd also love a box! You could start up an Etsy shop.

Oh, wow... okay!  This is do-able, especially since my husband just informed me that he forgot he'd booked next week off work, so we can finish the main project taking up most of the workshop (some reception desks for a care home... nothing "pretty"), and then I'll have workbench space again... currently, every available surface is covered in desk parts.

I've packed it up and sent it on it's way, after removing one more thing to make some room

I listened to Historyenne and want with something made just down the road.

Enjoy Larrabee!

hah!  My husband was looking at something on his phone the other day, and he asked what was on some peoples' dinner plates that looked like cupcakes.  I said they were probably cornbread muffins... that's the only thing I could think of that would look that and go with a savoury meal.  So then he was curious about that... it's a good thing we don't have an oven at the moment, or I'd be really sad that I missed out on the Jiffy mix.  I like to share US "culture" with my husband.  It reminds us both that there are still good qualities from my home in this era of turmoil.

Edited to add:
In fact, when we do have a kitchen again, I think I'll find some recipes, and make him a cajun meal... jambalaya, maybe some kind of scampi, corn bread muffins, fried okra, green beans... I'd love to make some beignets for after, but that's a whole area of cooking I'm completely unfamiliar with.  He will love all of it.  Except maybe the scampi, and possibly the okra.
