That's super cute! I still think you should set up an etsy shop. You could totally sell these, amongst other things...

Second this!! I would buy the crap out of your things

Aww, thanks, both of you!  I do intend to set up a shop, but I would like to have a few more regular stock items sorted out, so I can have a constant stream.  And then the occasional "artsy" creative thing to sell as one-offs.  My husband is a bit of a perfectionist, so we're working out all the kinks as best we can before we "go public".

I don't mean to be a downer, but I thought there was already a well established market for stamps like that. I mean, JF KIMBERLEY'S are undoubtedly nice but maybe other people are already selling?

And since we are hopelessly off topic : JF kimberley, have you been eating lava bread?  We had some for breakfast last time we were in your neighbourhood.

You are correct.  I'm hoping that customization options (while still being relatively quick/easy to make) will give me my USP.  But they cost very little, materials-wise, so if I make up a batch and they don't sell, or don't sell very quickly, I'm not out anything but my time... of which I have plenty.  ;)  I just need to sort out how to make them so I can price them reasonably and still be worth the effort.

If you mean laverbread (I Googled lava bread, but got that), this is the first I've learned of it.  I'm willing to try it, but no... I have not been eating it.  It looks like it's common to serve it on toast, and we don't have a toaster at the moment (our old one broke just before we moved, and we're waiting 'til we have a kitchen put a new one into before we buy it).  But maybe I can sort something out.  One of those wire frames you put bread into and hold over a fire for toasting while on camping trips, maybe?  ;)

As we're already off-topic, let me moan!

Had two more interviews at Oracle today.  I think it's me and either one or two internal candidates remaining (I think possibly only one internal).  And I think they are going to go the internal route.  How do you convince them that even though "I've been there, done that, got the t-shirt" that they should take a chance on the unknown?  The other person knows the business, knows the players, knows whats working, knows what needs to change.  How do you compete with that?  And he's a man.  GRRRRRR

The fact that they already know him so well could work for or against you, depending on how well he meshes with the existing team.  Maybe he's very good at his job, but he rubs people the wrong way.  That could help you.  Or maybe he's not even very good at his job, but is only being considered because he's really 'in' with one of the decision-makers... they still have to convince the others (if it's a team/board decision).

The fact that he's a man and you're a woman could actually help you... many companies are trying hard to improve their diversity figures.  Bringing in another woman helps their numbers, and I assume he'd get to keep his old job, so it doesn't really hurt him.

But, yeah... in my real world experience... *headshake*... I think I'd be annoyed by this point at what looks like stringing along.  But, maybe they'll surprise you with the offer at the end.

You had another interview pending with a different company, too, right?

Yeah, next week.  While I think it’s a good job and I would like it, I’d be walking into a sh*t storm.  Again, if I even get it.  :-\\\\

Kind of like Obama's first term, just as the Great Recession was really getting going!  You could be hailed a hero if you could fix their sh*t storm.  ;)

Maybe you could even work your butt off for 8 years and then get replaced by a maniac man child who has no other goal in life than to dismantle everything you accomplished.

How is it that he’s allowed to Tweet whatever he wants without any advising?

Or just get some from the breakfast caff next time you go out for a full English.  It's crazy stuff, like eating cold seaweed while licking the inside of a copper pipe.  Good though!
