Ooh, okay.  That's slightly less weird, and more reassuring.  I didn't want to be the only one eager to resume the game.  Yay!

I’ve been wanting to ask but not be rude!

I’ve been wanting to ask but not be rude!

I had to force myself to wait 'til today to say anything.  I thought it might be too soon before we all had a full weekend of recovery after New Year's.

I didn't want to be pushy.  I just like the game and seeing everybody's posts.

Yeah I won't be lucky enough to have that type of excuse come my turn! haha

I was so worried my first go (I was the very first recipient when Jim started it!) that I would receive the parcel and take a month to get around to passing it along.  I really only took about a week.  But I know how lazy/forgetful I am capable of being.

The first time I joined Netflix, it was back in the physical DVDs time.  I was a bit apprehensive, but it was the free trial month, so I gave it a shot.  I signed up, filled up a list of films I'd like, and they sent me the first one.  I watched it the night it arrived.  I put it in the return envelope and put the return envelope by the door next to my keys.  It took three weeks, leaving the house almost every day, grabbing my keys from right next to where the DVD sat, before I finally acknowledged that Netflix was not for me.  So I canceled my subscription before they billed me.  And the parting message from Netflix was, essentially, "Please send us our DVD."  *facepalm*

When I was doing my senior thesis in college, I borrowed some microfilm from the State Archives of Wisconsin. It took me about eight months to get around to returning it, during only about four of which I actually used it. For a good five months the Archives kept sending me increasingly desperate letters asking for it back, but being archivists they were super polite about it. I wish I'd kept the letters, they were the nicest angry demands I've ever received!

I kind of wish you'd kept some, too... I would be curious to see an example.

I feel like you'd look at the DVD, by the door/your keys, and be like "right, today is the day! I will walk to the end of the road and post it!"......and it would never happen hahahaha Think of all the DVDs you didn't get to receive because of the delay in getting yours posted back! (using the royal "you" LOL)

Oh, I know!  I had so many films on my list.  I probably could've seen at least 6 or 7 in my trial month, if I'd been the least bit responsible with posting them back.

At the time, my parking spot on the driveway was at the end, right near the mailbox, too.  If I just grabbed the envelope when I grabbed my keys, I wouldn't have had to go more than the length of my car further to put in the box and post it.  Still no dice.
