Dirty Dancing

There's been all this stuff on the telly recently about the film Dirty Dancing... not sure what it's all in aid of; probably a big anniversary or something.  But having never seen the film, I've only just realised from all the trailers and stuff...

THE WOMAN IN DIRTY DANCING IS FERRIS BUELLER'S SISTER, JEANNIE!!

The film came out in 1987, so it'll probably be 30th anniversary stuff .

But having never seen the film, I've only just realised from all the trailers and stuff...

Yep, she is (though I only watched Ferris Bueller for the first time in January ).

She's best known for playing Baby in Dirty Dancing, but sadly she got a nose job a couple of years later and it ruined her career, because she went from looking like Jennifer Grey to looking like someone who 'looks a bit like Jennifer Grey'. She did win Dancing With The Stars in 2005 though.

The film also stars Patrick Swayze,  Jerry Orbach (Law and Order) and Kelly Bishop (Gilmore Girls).

Albatross, you might need to break down and watch it!

Watched a behind the scenes thing the other day.  Fun fact, the role came down to Jennifer Grey and Sarah Jessica Parker.  Jennifer Grey later was engaged to JC and he's now been married to SJP forever!

Once again , we are brothers under the skin!   It's very unlikely I'm going to watch that movie.

I'd watch it with Albatross for free if we could drink a few beers and talk over the  movie.  I'd pay money if All the fans were also in the room and they couldn't hear...

I've never seen it either, and I'm not that far from Albatross.... anyone want to offer me a bribe to do some arm-twisting?

For anyone interested, Dirty Dancing is showing on Channel 5 right now (started 30 minutes ago) or will be starting on Channel 5+1 in 30 minutes .

I find Dirty Dancing is one of those movies that if you see it's on, you MUST stop and watch!
