Dude Amazon Prime will be my lifeblood once it does. I'm so freaking excited! He said that he was in talks about this show a year ago, and I was so jazzed up then.

Prime already is my lifeblood! I've been spoiled by UK Prime because the second I went back to the US and needed to purchase something last minute for the wedding I was in, I was so irrationally irritated that it would take 2-day minimum with Prime. I was like "WHAT IS THIS?! IN THE UK WE GET NEXT DAY FOR FREE!!" lol

Just when you thought you couldn’t hate Trump more:

Embedded: Trump Stories: The Apprentice
https://overcast.fm/+GNfh5BzB8https://overcast.fm/+GNfh5BzB8

“13 years ago, one TV show changed how the world saw Donald Trump. Today, the story of how it became a hit, why it may have helped his eventual election and how the people involved feel about it now. “

In summary, when they were making the apprentice, they made bankrupt racist Donald Trump look good because that’s what you do for reality TV.  Now all the producers are mortified they convinced America to vote Trump.

Would everybody shun me if I admitted that I watched the first episode of LORE last night and I was kind of disappointed??? I wasn't loving it the way I was expecting/hoped I would.

I'm not sure it translated from podcast to show the way I thought it would? Or maybe it was because I was watching it in bed before sleeping maybe? Usually those shows are the ones I half pay attention so maybe my brain automatically treated it as something more boring?

Has anybody else tried it yet? If so, what were your thoughts? Should I give it another episode to see?

On the other hand, I am now listening to an amazing podcast called Finding Richard Simmons. On episode 2 and I'm lovinggggg it so far.

As much as I love the podcast, I do think it's a bit better as audio. And Aaron Mahnke's book is amazing. Maybe it's truly the show creators at fault...

Though saying that, it won't stop me from watching it lol

I think I could dig it if it were Aaron going off to research these cases himself (vs actors trying to act it out) or even like ONLY actors (no narration) acting out these legends. Also, my husband pointed out, that we think the first episode was more or less covered in the podcast from what we could remember (I never went back to double-check) and I think that didn't help as I was hoping it'd be totally fresh material.

Just listening to "Serial" as we speak (season 1) and I am prettttttyy much addicted. Thanks whoever it was that suggested it!

Serial is the grand daddy of great podcasts.  I won't be spoiling it if I tell you that later on people start calling in with particular bits of information, changing the investigation as it actually happened.

Don't bother with season 2.  The whole season is dumb guy does something dumb.  Why?  Because he's dumb.

I'm on the last episode of season 1 actually (listened to it on my drive to a customer site so more than halfway through it) so will find this all out by the end I think! haha Really bummed that the second season is crap :( Maybe season 3 will be better...? (if they have one?)

Technically all the episodes are based off things from the Lore podcast, but meh... not my cup of tea completely. But I am bored.

And I have Serial on my list, but my weirdness says I can't go to a new podcast until I finish one... so it's third... getting close to listening though

I know that feel!

I thought it was based off the podcast as in the "idea" of the podcast not literalllly the same material so maybe that's why I was disappointed.

My auto correct has gone mad.  It's Bo Birghdal who ran away to the Taliban.

That's a tough handicap!  I've got 25 or so podcasts on the go at any one time.

Tried listening to season 2 and I just thought "hmm...better not.." about 5 minutes in LOL. Put on S-Town instead (episode 1) and husband and I were so intrigued. We kept saying "WHAT ARE WE ACTUALLY LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW!?" as it was soo weird but it was veryyy intriguing (but I was listening in bed so potentially fell asleep before the end, I can't remember lol). Currently listening to "Conversations With People Who Hate Me" as I only have another episode or 2 left so i thought I might as well polish them off (because I've subscribed to sooo many, but my OCD is killing me as I've only finished very few).
