Yeah, unfortunately my husband refuses to pay the extra almost $1k for in person as 'we're already paying thru the nose'. Well we'll see how it goes. And we're also using the savings category for ILR so wish us luck in nov 2017!

It's "only" £590 for in-person (plus an additional £75 if you want a Saturday or early or late appoinment).  I don't know if that £400-ish difference would help you convince your husband.

But if you really do plan to do a postal application, please consider sharing your application date, and you can be the first on the spreadsheet.  We'll start tracking this like they're doing for the other visas.  :)

Also, on a health note, my dad had his first heart attack at the age of 42.  The blockage was in the artery referred to by his cardiologist as "the widow maker", but my dad had a triple bypass and made a full recovery (my sister caused a minor kitchen fire around the same time, and my dad painted the interior of our house during his recovery from the op!).  About 11 years later, he had another heart attack, and ended up needing another triple bypass.  And about 10 years after that, he had stents put in.  And a few years later, he had a pacemaker fitted.  It took 24 years before the heart disease finally took its toll.

Really, now that your dad has had a heart attack, he's in a safer condition than before, because now he'll be getting closer medical monitoring and he knows what to look out for.

Yes I meant dollars! so it's about $755 extra as of today and add that other 75 pounds ugh. I dunno. I just hope our application is straightforward since it's just 6 savings bank statements and the same as before stuff on accommodation, letters. As long as they haven't introduced any new requirements or that the pound goes up a great deal we should be ok.

Thank you for the health note. It's true he's very careful with diet and meds and exercise since. So hopefully everything will be ok while I apply.

From what I can see, the application is virtually the same information, but no IHS.  And you'll need your LiUK pass certificate (I'm doing mine  next month, so I don't really know what they give you to show you passed... but whatever it is, you'll need that).

Have you considered the checking service?  KFDancer, I think, mentioned it earlier in this thread.  It won't speed up the process, but at least you'll know that your waiting won't be in vain.

It's just a piece of paper. Nothing fancy for all that work!  ;)

I think if you have the money definitely do in person ILR. It's so painful not having a passport and feeling so depressed stuck here indefinitely 6+ months.

Please add me to the ILR spreadsheet if we have one?

Type of Application: Set(M) ILR Settlement Postal Application (using savings only category)
Country applying from: UK
Nationality: US Citizen
Mailed application: 16 Oct 2017
Email acknowledgement: 24 Oct 2017
Biometrics: 28 Oct 2017

Status on tracker: Awaiting Decision

Oh!  I didn't know you did post, after all.  You are the first customer for the spreadsheet.

Yay!  ;D  Maybe some more people are watching that might like to join in?  :)

I'm reviving this thread since it's already linked from the spreadsheet.  If anybody else is out there waiting for their ILR-by-post application and wants to be included in the spreadsheet, please speak up.

Hi, can I just double check the date when I can apply for ILR.

Following a Fiancé visa, I married in England & I received my first spouse visa in Nov 2013 (the BRP card had a valid date of 1.11.13).  Am I correct that I can apply for ILR up to 28 days before 1.11.13 (having passed the Life in the UK test)?

Yes, 28 days before 5 years since the start of your first FLRM.  :)

28 days before 60 months after your FLR(M)#1, yes.  So 28 days before 1/11/2018... which is 4/10/2018 by my count.
