Same here!

I'm only 32 and absolutely no kids for me thanks.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

My daughter's nursery fees are over £1100 a month...  which means we've paid over £30,000 in nursery fees in the last two years and 4 months.  And we'll have two in nursery soon.  If that doesn't make you feel sick....  nothing will!

ZOMG!!!!  :o :o :o
That is terrible!

My husband and I had a long fantasy conversation on what we would be doing with all of our disposable income if we didn't have kids the other weekend.  Oh the dreaming!!   ;D

I think it's much more expensive here.  I've always heard to budget $1,000 a month in the US.  And as salaries are higher there...  <sigh>

Heavens. Four years ago we were sourcing a nursery for a friend of ours in SoCal, and the best we could find was $1,800 a month. Of course, this was for an "under two years old" space and slightly less for "over two."  It's only going up!  At the present, unless both parents are pulling in some serious income, it's cheaper for one to stay home with the kid(s) than work and have to pay for daycare/nursery!

Definitely the same here.  Childcare often outweighs income.

Well, on the good side, at least staying home with your kids you get to really know them and control what they do all day.  Of course, if you're a "career" person, that gets shot all to hell for a while. ::)
