Spouse Visa + Dependent - Non Priority
« on: August 19, 2017, 08:39:24 PM »
Alrighty guys!

I received all of my husband's documentation on Thursday and sent in my and my daughter's online visa applications on Friday. We have our biometric screening appointments on this coming Tuesday and I just want to double check that I have everything correct to be sent off! (and I have questions about shipping)

Document checklist :

Table of contents
Introduction letter for both myself and my daughter
*for me*
Printout of visa app
Receipt of payment for visa
Receipt of payment for NHS
Biometric receipt (to be stamped)
Passport plus 2 passport photos
Original Birth certificate
Job offer and my resume for proof of employability

*for my daughter *
Printout of visa app
Receipt of payment for visa
Receipt of payment for NHS
Biometric receipt (to be stamped)
Passport plus 2 passport photos
Original Birth certificate
Court document showing paternity was never established
2 supporting letters from her dr/school srating i am sole custodian
(these last 2 things were necessary to have her passport processed so i figured might as well send for the visa as well)

*from my husband/sponsor*
Letter of introduction/sponsorship
Original Birth certificate
Copy of passport photo page

*financial requirements *
Appendix 2 forms for both me and my daughter
Sponsoship forms for both of us

Letter of employment for DH
5 months original  salaried payslips

Ct600 for self employment
Evidence of registration with companies house
Unaudited accounts and certified accountants letter for last financial year
Business bank statements
Current appointment report from companies house
Proof of registration for PAYE
Self employment payslips and p60
Personal bank statements for ct600 period hand stamped and signed by bank
Dividend voucher/certificate
Self-assessment tax
Letter from HMRC confirming receipt of VAT return
Certificate of VAT registration and VAT return

*accommodation*
Letter from landlord giving us permission to reside
Tenancy agreement for DH
Council tax statement for DH
Utility bill for DH

*relationship*
Original US marriage certificate for DH & I
Divorce decree for myself
Divorce decree for DH
Screenshots of conversations between us
Colour Photos of all of us together
Letters from friends and family confirming our relationship etc
Copies of e-tickets from visits
Tentative travel itinerary

******

Should I organise everything into a binder/protective sleeves?
Am I missing anything?
Do I need to make copies of everything?

In regards to shipping.... Do I have to use the VFS service or can I use UPS directly?
Am I ok with all of my daughter's information being together with mine or does it need to be sent separately?

Thanks in advance!

The Appendix 2 forms should be put at the beginning with your application forms. Although they are called 'financial requirements', they are actually the second half of the visa application and contain all the questions about how you meet each requirement of the visa.

They cannot process the application without Appendix 2 and it will be the first thing they check when they open the package, so both Appendix 2 forms should be put right near the top so they can be easily seen, along with the priority receipts at the very top.

You don't need the following, so take them all out:

You
- Original Birth certificate (your passport is proof of ID)
- Job offer and my resume for proof of employability (cannot be considered)

Your daughter
- Original Birth certificate (her passport is proof of ID)

Sponsor
- Original Birth certificate (his passport copy is proof of ID)

Financial
Sponsorship forms for both of us (do not apply to spousal or child visas)

Accommodation
- Council tax statement for DH (not required)
- Utility bill for DH (not required)

Relationship
Letters from friends and family confirming our relationship etc (cannot be considered)

No, do NOT use folders or binders. Just collect everything into sensible piles and secure with a paperclip or rubber band.

Yes, you should send copies of everything you want to be returned to you.

You can use UPS directly, but you will not be able to purchase the return shipping back from the UK, so you will need to either:
-  purchase a VFS label for just the return shipping,
or
- create an online UPS account and include your account number with the documents. Your account will then be charged for the return shipping when the visa is issued

Despite what the VFS website says, they have always needed to be sent together in the past, because you 'share' the accommodation and financial documents, and your income requirement is different if you are applying with a child too (£22,400).

Include copies of everything you want back. Just have everything in a stack and put a rubber band around it. Same for the stack of copies.

What financial category are you applying under? Not sure if you are employing under A or F? Combination of some sort???

That's just what I was going to ask.

If you're applying under Category A, he needs 6 FULL MONTHS of payslips and bank statements, and if you only have 5 months, you won't qualify for the visa.

However, if you are using Category F, Self-Employment, you may be okay.

Awesome. I'm ridiculously nervous. Especially with the financial stuff considering the sheer amount of ppw required for self employment (category f)
I've seen horrid reviews for Vfs which is why i asked about UPS. I wish everything was in plain easy to understand English lol.
I only have a photocopy of his passport (not notarized) which is why I included his original b.c.

I was definitely unsure about the copies of everything because the financial stuff is literally a TON of stuff. Nbd to copy, just extra weight in the package.

I'm crossing my fingers and my toes, wish we had the extra funds for priority service.

Combo applying. He removed himself as an employee from his business in March and is in the process of closing it. He began salaried employment in March.

VFS is just a website - they do not offer any actual services, they are just the means by which to pay for services offered by other companies (i.e. UKVI and UPS).

The shipping labels you purchase from VFS Global are simply 2-day, fixed-price UPS shipping.

So, you either purchase the shipping labels from VFS (easiest option) or you can sort out the shipping labels yourself through UPS or DHL.

You can still send his birth certificate if you like, but several people have been fine just sending a regular photocopy.

Basically, you should send copies of any original documents you want to be returned to you, or they might keep the originals.
