That is very helpful information.  I will try to restrain my stress then.  Trying to coordinate all of this is very hard....

Oh yes!  I don't remember that time fondly!

I was even less fond when my visa came through with a date I wasn't familiar with....   ::)  But that has changed after all these years and you won't have that problem!!!

At least you'll have a little longer to get organised!  :)

True, my biggest concern though is it screwing with the place I'm going to be renting.  Under the new law, I can't sign the lease without the visa in place, so I'm really juggling here... I have a couple of weeks still, but I don't want to lose my earnest money.

Yes the logistics are really tough. Hopefully they must understand that it's out of your hands and will work with you if necessary.

Things don't happen quick in the UK.  A few weeks is probably what it would take if you were already here and in a hotel!   ;D

In general, I like the slower pace of the UK.  One of the reasons I want to live there.  But this is the exception to that rule :P

Hello all,

I just wanted to post here, that my move is complete, except for my stuff which may be a few more weeks in arriving.  I start my new job tomorrow, and I think I have most of the issues sorted out for now.  Thank you again for all your help.
