59 dead and 851 injured in Las Vegas and we couldn't even get a ban on bump stocks.  I think this one is going to be thoughts and prayers only, assuming the shooter is white.   If the shooter is brown we may get a travel ban on Venezuelans.

His last name is Cruz, but he looks pretty white to me.

Melania was in quick with her thoughts and prayers.  The scene was still "active" when her tweet came out.
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued

8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

He was adopted, as was his brother. So quite American and will not be painted as a terrorist.

My sister works in higher education and many friends are teachers. Days like this leave a pit in my stomach thinking back to the Virginia Tech shooting where she'd been home sick and lost many friends and students, but it could've been her. The terror as I waited to hear from her to know if she was OK because I was in a job that didn't let you make phone calls during your shift.

Do you remember when Trump started tweeting while one of the London attacks was still going on?  I remember that he said something that actually should not have been released while the thing was still happening and people would have been furious if they weren't overwhelmed with other stuff.   Now I believe he was probably just watching TV.  I can't believe anyone would share secure info with him.

By the way, if anybody wants my copy of Fire and Fury, it's yours for the price of postage.  NCTami has first dibs and Doesn't pay postage cause she's great.
I'm sorry, I vandalised the front cover in a moment of weakness. You'll know it when you see it.

Oh you guys... :)

Once I started to see just how bad the social media polarization problem really is, I stopped engaging in the "debate".  I didn't want to add even a drop of fuel to that fire.  But you guys make it so enjoyable. :P

It's probably for the best! You don't want the stress of having to hit a minimum tweet level every day! EXHAUSTING!

Technically.....I think I actually have a twitter log-in somewhere. I signed up 5 years or so ago when I was keeping track of RAAM (bicycle race) one summer and they had live updates. At the time I was still riding a recumbent and was keeping track of a guy that was riding the race on a recumbent. I really don't understand why people are interested in what some person is doing during the day. Does anybody really care if I get on twitter and let them know I'm in Asda standing in front of the candy selection (again)? Although.....back to the gun situation.....it sucks, and I don't think they will do anything as usual.
